Forge Hub Favorites - Feb. 8th
Feb 08, 2010 - 10:10 PM - by X5

Give yourself a pat on the back. Hell, while you're at it, give your neighbor a pat on the back, your mother a hug, and your dog his daily rations. The point is, be happy my friend, because you have seen Forge Hub Favorites reach its third edition for the first time! Forget that it's a day late, stop being a downer. Rejoice! Take the night off, go for a walk, and enjoy the maps that herald this monumental achievement.

Colossus of Rhodes
Feb 06, 2010 - 12:46 AM - by chrstphrbrnnn
Colossus of Rhodes
Created by: jakob hunter

Winner of the recent Wonders of the World contest, jakob hunter's Colossus of Rhodes is one massive, detailed monument of awesomesauce. Built with an eye kept close on other artistic representations, Hunter brings to the scene a work that Michelangelo would have been jealous of (not that he would understand what an Xbox is). Complete with torch and wall-made sash, Helios is kickin' the newest fashion statement for inanimate, digital forge statues. Hell, he's even ripped to the max with abs of steel (or stone rather).

In all serious though, it's quite sure that Jakob hunter didn't spend near as much time staring at a blank canvas as Michelangelo did, but he has however created one of the best aesthetic statues to date. Hunter really took the spirit of this contest to heart in creating his masterwork and it truly shows. Hunter even managed to snag the first submission in the contest. If you are ever in need of inspiration for an aesthetic piece, you may want to give Mr. Hunter a ring. Congratulations jakob hunter for turning a wonder of the world into a wonder of the forge world as well.

Feb 04, 2010 - 9:27 PM - by chrstphrbrnnn

So you've never been to Rome? Well that's okay. It doesn't matter that you've never seen the Coliseum or traveled to India and witnessed the majesty of the Taj Mahal. Maybe your computer doesn't allow you to visit any other website but Forge Hub and thus you haven't even gazed upon a mere image of one worldly wonder. Well never fear Forge Hub is here to save the day. Over the break we hosted a contest that would bring the worlds most famous monuments to real life in halo! So if you ever wanted to walk around the Lighthouse of Alexandria or stare up at a towering statue of Helios you must check out the results of this contest.

The contest itself was open to a few categories that classify what a Wonder of the World is.

Those categories were:If you wanted to check out all the submissions take a look here.

TGIF #49 Sign Ups
Feb 03, 2010 - 9:29 PM - by chrstphrbrnnn

TGIF #49 will run on Friday the 5th of February and party leaders will start their parties at the appropriate time (check individual schedules for more information). If a party is not joinable, that means it is full, therefore you do NOT need to send invites or messages to the leader asking to get in. It will not work! We all hope you have a great TGIF - play nice and have fun.

Please note that FH TGIF 1 has been cleared out - if you've been on them in the past you will have to resend a Friend Request!
If you'd like to request a specific party, please sign for that party here and message the user pre-party start time for an early invite.
  • Sign up by posting your Gamertag in this thread.
  • Send a friend request to the following TGIF gamertag over Xbox live: FH TGIF 1
  • Each host's motto/bio will say what type of maps they're playing, and how many players are admitted.
    • You gain access to each host via 'Friends of Friends' of the TGIF gamertag you sign up with.
    • Join an available party according to the playstyle you prefer.
  • Get tired of a party and want a change of pace? Leave and join another! All parties will be set to Open, so change parties as you please.
  • Want to play Rocket Race for a few hours? Go ahead! Then when you get bored of it jump ship and join another party for a different style of play!
  • If you need help with time zones, please check out this thread.
