    Here's what I worked on. Made dis over the last few days. Hardcore TS/Flag/King focused, but will create a separate version for normal TS/Flag/King & FFA. Anyone care to help me test? 1v1, 2v2, 4v4 all are welcome. Need to playtest spawns and test flow/lines of sight GT: im all savage

    EDIT: I know the screenshot shows non-aligned bridges or whatever else.. that's not me, it's the dumb .7 rotation bug.

    Currently working on a Reach linear infection map using a modded infection / invasion hybrid gametype. Essentially it's already done but it still needs a couple extra testing sessions to refine the gameplay.

    I'm also working on a VIP Map similar to the old H3 gametype "Protect Obama" where Spartans raid a high-rise building where elites are holed up. It's early in testing and currently the gametype code needs editing to iron out some weird bugs. As you know - VIP wasn't in Reach, so it's purely a community-created mode.

    Hey guys,
    So this is an early warning I guess but wanted to see who was still around atm and if anyone has any opinions on this. So basically, next year will be my 3rd year of my Computer Science degree at uni and I need to do a large individual project. Now an idea I've had which isn't confirmed to be my project yet, but I am starting to discuss with some lecturers at least, is basically properly exploring the ideas presented in this thread:

    Now exactly the approach I'd take and whether I'd base my research in halo or a simpler system etc. is yet to be discussed but obviously I know some of you guys well enough now and would really appreciate any input throughout the process and even just refining the idea for the project. Obviously the focus has to be around the programming itself but whether it be map feedback (honestly I'd rather trust you guys that try to come up with some objective metric for judging creations but whether that's suitable due to bias who knows), or just level design advice and what elements my program should focus on getting right/rules it should or should not follow I'd be curious to see. I'd also be interested to re-spark the discussion presented in the thread in question especially considering, at least for this 3rd year project, how constrained my system needs to be to be effective and how much of the map design I should leave up to user input.

    Minecraft is probably a good subject. Unless you are building a game like this (or don't mind spending hours on a sub-par level that 'works') you'll want to stick to almost 100% handcrafted moments. Some styles of games may allow more leniency where you could handcraft the macro and generate the micro to provide an specific kind of experience.

    Of course you CAN use algorithms to generate levels for you. The real questions are SHOULD you, and in what cases does it benefit the intended experience for the players when you do. Context is important, so probably focus on narrowing down what experiences have the best arguments for this rather than looking at level design as a whole.

    Whenever I always get to that part in a map the look and layout seem to be done. Figured places for 3 power weapons have game types in place. Do I ask experienced forgers for their help with spawning, weapons, cameras and all the other things todo. Is the place I get stuck always but here is a large btb map with stuff to do or if you want to help me out in putting in the finishing touches to get it ready for playtesting at minimum. Here is a look at the unnamed map. A bit sidewinder and containment inspired.

    I've been pretty quite around here but I've been quite busy outside of forge. This is one of the big things I've been working on! Playstation, Xbox, and Crossplay/Crossgen coming out July 27th! No level editor at this time but if the game is successful on console, it's something that the team has already expressed interest in wanting to do!

    is it free on pc and cross play with consoles? if so im def getting it, always looked like a fun game, this could be huge for the games future

    Free for everyone, Cross Console, Cross Generation.

    It's already highly polished since the mvp has been being built upon for this launch over the last 2 years but we plan to have regular updates and additional content flowing into the game for the foreseeable future. So it's only going to get better.

    I saw this the other day and immediately posted it to my buddies. Looks like some good fun. A full featured level editor would definitely give this game a bump.
