Here's my idea for an Invasion "Remake":

The gametype is a highly modified and technical one-flag. Elites are attackers, and Spartans are defenders. Elites would have a set of balanced out "loadouts" (room into which they must go before they can enter the battle field, containing different weapons and equipment), and spartans would have their own "loadouts" as well.

Scattered across the map would be three "hubs" or "generators" into which the elites must fire or throw grenades to destroy the grav-lift. Once all three grav-lifts have been destroyed the elites will be able to access the main objective, but more on that later.

"Hubs", or "Generators" would work something like this.

Once a grav-lift is destroyed it will respawn forcing one block to be thrown out of the way, with three blocks restricting access to the "core" (Bomb or Flag). The "core" would be contained inside the spartan base, behind the previously blocked off hallway, and the elites would have to grab the "core" and get it to a certain area to "escape" (set off the bomb or capture the flag).

This all seems a bit difficult to do in Halo 3, and could be cut short into a generator defense remake if need be. To do this, after all three generators were destroyed a room inside the elites spawn would be opened, and they would simply pick up a bomb and instantly plant it and set it off.

I'm not that great with the forging aspects, but I'm great with ideas and decent with map design. If anybody wants in on this, just let me know, but warning: I'll be extremely picky about it.

    Thoughts?

Its a good idea, although sounds very complex in the making of. One question I have is: How do you make it so the blocks blocking the room come away one at a time, or more precisily, so that the third generator destruction doesn't unblock the other two?

Interesting point. The Door mechanism would look something like this:

You see, no matter what order the three blocks go up, they all need to be up in order to get to the "core".

SO youre saying the gravlift runtime will be 3/6 so when one is destroyed the other will spawn? Could you please explain that more. Also I am working on an invasion gametype but it dosnent resemble yours.

When one of the three grav-lifts is destroyed, one of the other grav-lifts that have been set to not spawn at the start with automatically spawn if the minimum is set correctly.

I like the idea behind it but there are only four grav lifts in forge. You could easily change that by just having just one door standing between the attackers and the plant spot. Then you set your three grav lifts to be destroyed to never respawn, your final lift to 180/no start, and the run time minimum to one. This way you still have three goals and you have to destroy all three to win, just make sure your game only lasts three minutes or they get an auto win when the lift spawns automatically.

Thanks Ell3ment, like I said I'm not great at forging, it was just a rough Idea.

U could also have 2 generators and when u destroy one, a grav lift spawns somewhere outside the map and when the other one is destroyed a grav life will spawn pushing a door which leads to the flag, when the attackers r near the flag or holding it while the 3 minutes r gone, then sudden death kicks in with 2 minutes.

Okay thats what I thought in that case this will not work. The switch your talking about is a min max switch that used to be used for doors. The main problem with this is after 3 minutes the other gravlift will spawn anyway. The other thing is you will only be able to have 2 generators. Now I know a way this can work If you want me to tell you send me a PM or Friend Request me. GT Mr Ipod Touch

Actually, the generator defense gametype for bungie is only about a minute and a half longer than 3 minutes, standing at around 4:30. I suppose you could speed up the process by giving the covenant some light vehicles (ghosts, mongooses, etc.) and plus you could have more than 3v3.. maybe even do something like 5v3.

I know what to do. Make a fusion coil spawn instead. With the other things that can be knocked out of the way. make it so even when they spawn, they need activation to work. Again it's complex, but its crazy. SO CRAZY..... It just might work.

Sounds like an OK idea. My only issue is that if game get to complicated and you have to spend ages explaining to people how to play it might get tedious.

Wouldn't that stop the elites from getting to the 'core'?

    ...no.

By dropping the block onto the receivers, it'll allow the elites to go through the senders, thus grabbing the core(flag).

I think he is saying that elites stupid enough to try going through the tele's early would get caught.

Wouldn't these need to be placed outside the map? That'll make sure that elites that go through cant just destroy the grav lift (because they'd die)

I don't see how blocking the recievers would help the elites when they're trying to get to the 'core'..... Unless, the grav lifts block the way to the core and the go from up there, and as they destroy the grav lifts they block the spartan's way of getting out of some sort of 'hub' room where they arm up but the fastest way for them to get to the core to defend it is through the teleporters?
