Welcome Back to another installment of Forgehub Community Favorites! Hopefully everyone had a great socially distanced Halloween! Now we must turn our eyes to the Thanksgiving feast (Sorry non Americans!) Speaking of feasts, let's feast our eyes on this forge feast of this month's community favorites!
Here are the nominations and winners for the month of October!
First up in 3rd place we have Aerial Elephant by RushMyPancake! Aerial Elephant is a minigame built around the king of the hill gametype. In this minigame players must dodge the flying elephant which is bouncing around inside of a box. Players remain on a platform and the last player standing is the victor. The elephant can be rather unpredictable as players are able to flip the elephant while it is flying at them, making for an interesting strategy to form against other players. The map uses a very unique system of shield doors and grav lifts/man cannons to allow the large elephant to bounce around in an endless cycle towards the platform that players are standing on. Aerial Elephant is a fantastic new addition to many classic Halo 3 minigames and I would highly recommend anyone to check it out and give it a try for some good old fun and laughs. It should be noted that this map is currently only available on the PC version of MCC, RushMyPancake has included a tutorial on how to download the map and get it playing on your version of MCC in Aerial Elephants map post.
In 2nd place this month we have Demagogue by HoboSteeveJacko! Demagogue is a map that is heavily inspired by Agony from Unreal Tournament. HoboSteeveJacko tried to capture the original Agony by memory and watching streamers play the level in Unreal Tournament. HoboSteeveJacko also took some creative liberties with the level, changing the original layout to allow for the map to be more balanced for team based gameplay. These changes include shifting some of the walls around, and creating new rooms which did not exist in the original version of Agony. Demagogue supports 2v2, 4v4, CTF, Free for All, oddball, slayer, and strongholds. This map is a great map for some of those more serious nights where playing casually just isn't an option and you want to watch the sweat pour into your controllers thumbsticks. So be sure to check this one out if that's what you are looking for in a map to play.
In 1st place this month we have Unsorted gamings recreation of the Halo Infinite Campaign gameplay demo! This map is a recreation of the first half of the campaign demo which was shown off in July and goes up to just about before we meet our fabled hero Craig. Unsorted Gaming has gone to great lengths to try and capture the exact formations as they are seen in the Halo Infinite campaign demo. It should be noted that this is not a map that you actually play on, it's more of an aesthetic piece and unseen areas which were not shown in the video he created to replicate the demo, are not polished and fairly messy. As the whole purpose was to stay on the path that the gameplay demo took, to recreate the look and feel. Great job this month Unsorted Gaming! And we look forward to the next Halo Infinite creation you come up with!
Congrats to all winners this month and we are excited to see more creations from all of you in the coming months! Keep the forge maps a coming folks!
Later from your favorite,
I'm not really sure what I do here
