Welcome Back to another installment of Forgehub Community Favorites! Spring has sprung over at Forgehub headquarters and with that the staff are always excited to see all these newly blossomed Halo maps yall have created! We have two whole race maps as winners this month. Lets try and tell Ducain23 to not get too excited. With that in mind let's race right on off in this edition of community favorites for the month of March 2021!
Here are the nominations and winners for the month of March!
First up in third place this month we have Dark Ritual by Yeti For Hire! This map was originally designed for Forgehubs 2v2 contest, which was what seems like millenia ago at this point. The reasoning behind the map being released now, in modern times, is due to Yeti For Hire lowering his self standards for releasing his maps. Hopefully this 3rd place positioning this month will help him out a bit with gaining confidence to release some more unreleased maps in the future! Dark Ritual features a well “Dark” aesthetic, with medieval gothic castle vibes and greatly lives up to its own name. Dark Ritual is a rather unique 2v2 map, as it features a drop teleporter and a rideable stream to traverse the map, as well as 2 binary rifles and 2 speed boosts. Great job this month Yeti and hopefully we see some more of those “subpar” maps of yours!
Our runner up this month is Praedyth’s Run by Danger Tanner! This is our first race map up for a top three placing this month. Praedyth’s Run was created for Ducain23’s January 2021 Racetrack Contest and features a time split shifting racetrack. Danger Tanner puts this such “As you race on Praedyth’s Run, you will find yourself phasing between timelines... One moment you’ll be racing through ancient, overgrown structures and the next you’ll be cruising on perfected Vex architecture in a massive void... two sides of the same coin.” The map certainly has an interesting story to tell, and certainly reminds me of that one Spongebob episode where squidward yells “Future” on the floor. Praedyth’s Run also features these amazing auto turrets which fire at you while going through the future section of the map, which add a lot of variation into the track! Going from ancient ravines to sleek metallic corridors this map will be sure to please all those race fans out there with its interesting time shifting teleporter mechanics, and is a great time all around! Great job this month Danger Tanner!
Finally in first place this month, for the second month in a row we have… Arpod with Uprooted! Uprooted is also a race track which was developed for Ducain23’s January 2021 Racetrack Contest. This track offers stunning visuals of a very unique artstyle, with the only way to really describe them as dimension bending, mysterious, and alien in origin. This track is perfect for any party of eight or fewer players, and can sure be fun to knock off others at the tree crossroad sections! This map makes for a perfect smaller scale racetrack which will for sure once again bring lots of fun to those avid Halo racing fans. Im sure Ducain is very proud of you Arpod and great job for securing first place for the second month in a row!
Congrats once again to all those that placed this month, and if even if you didn't, we are certainly excited to see what everyone creates in the future! Until next month!
Later from your favorite,
I'm not really sure what I do here
