    Greetings fellow Halo fans... finally, the wait is over!

    Welcome to my first project on Reach, and first upload to Forge Hub:

    Archive XXI

    Description
    This map was designed primarily for BTB & Invasion, but is compatible with ALL standard gametypes.
    However... due to limitation of the Forge mode, I have split it into three separate files:


    • BTB Slayer/Objective & Race variant
    This is the BTB file (v1.0), and is compatible with:


    • Assault
    • Capture The Flag
    • Race
    • Slayer
    • Territories
    Overview

    6x DMR (spawn time = 45, spare clips = 1)
    4x Assault Rifle (spawn time = 30, spare clips = 1)
    4x Needle Rifle (spawn time = 45, spare clips = 2)

    Infection area details

    There are no weapons, vehicles or AA/powerups as pickups in this section, but it does feature a day/night effect using certain FX objects, and it will slowly get darker as the game progresses to give more horror feel in zombie games.

    I have only encountered minor framerate issues in the Invasion variant, although it hasn't affected performance drastically. I've started working on a v2, and hopefully this and other small problems I've found will be fixed.

    Brief History
    When I first started building this map, I was still learning how to use the Forge mode on Reach, experimenting with all the cool new tools Bungie had delivered to us. What I started to make didn't look like much, and was very different to what it ended up as. To give you an idea of just how much it has changed over time, this is what the map looked like in it's early stage of development way back in late 2010.

    Eventually I had realized just what my goal would be on what became a very ambitious project,
    to make a map suitable for all standard gametypes... and of course, this lead to allot of problems which I would eventually encounter.

    That's a really nice map you got there! I love the way you created the constructions, and used many colors to brighten things up. Especially the way you built the inclines on the sides of one of the buildings looks really good. Good job!

    This is one of the best BTB maps i've seen in months. The bases are balanced and the aesthetics look fantastic.

    Thank you for the positive comments guys, I'm glad you like this map I've created. I haven't decided whether I will update it or not, but I may take it under consideration... although I've managed to complete the Invasion section, so everyone can finally get the chance to look at the details & some screenshots of it.

    If I get the chance soon, I will post a couple more of my projects which I've been working on recently. They aren't as massive, or were time consuming as this one was, but I think you will find them to be very pleasing as well.

    It's been a while since I started this thread, thought I'd check on it & see if there were any more comments left by other users. Such a shame that this map I spent countless hours working on has been neglected. Figured I may as well fix the download links so that anyone still playing Reach can try it out in customs.

    Perhaps I might try recreating it in Halo 4. If there's a way to bring back Invasion, then this would make an excellent map to play on... though I guess the next best thing would be Dominion.

    The lack of replies to your thread is probably because 1) Forgehub hasn't been doing great traffic-wise lately and 2) Halo 4 just came out.

    Go ahead and remake it for Halo 4. :)

    Hmmm... you do have a point there Spin. It certainly was more active here even back when Reach was still somewhat popular.
    Trust Micro$oft to f*ck everything up for us, ah but what can you do ey.

    It must suck to be in 343i's shoes right now. I pity them.
