Welcome to our last competitive tournament this side of Halo 4! Starting August 6th, our next tournament will be a 1v1, single elimination battle extraordinaire on a host of new maps. That's where you come in! We're giving you the entire month of July to submit 1v1 maps tailored for inclusion in the tournament. Come the deadline, we'll playtest all your submissions and declare the winner - or winners - which will then be included in the tournament. Official Gametype The gametype is a variation of the current MLG settings which is styled more like Halo 3, taking the focus away from armor abilities/bloom and putting it back on a player's raw skill. Score to Win: 15 Time Limit: 15 Minutes Teams: Enabled Team Changing: Disabled Primary Weapon: DMR Secondary Weapon: None Starting Grenades: 1 Frag Starting Equipment: None Bloom: Zero Player Speed: 120% Jump Height: 110% Player Gravity: 150% Motion Tracker Mode: Enhanced Respawn Time: 5 Seconds Suicide Penalty: 3 Seconds This not being vanilla Halo, you'll have to take these settings into account when designing your map. For example, make sure to test your jumps with the right movement settings, and design to avoid situations where players can continually evade their opponent. Submission Rules Submit your maps in this thread, linking directly to the file in your fileshare. Maps must be completed and submitted by 12 PM EST Tuesday July 31st. Previously released maps are eligible, but they must be reworked to support the official gametype. Maps must be created on Forgeworld. Maps must be tagged FHSmackdown in your fileshare. We may want to suggest small changes to maps in contention, so you should be happy to work with us as and when necessary. Beyond that, we'd encourage you to take advantage of the community at large to grab feedback on your work throughout the month of July. Best of luck to everyone!
