Yes, youve said youre doing this public, because you dont want to hear complaints in the future. This wasnt an integrity move, it was a damage control attempt. You forgot to state in the main announcement that you couldnt alter the files. A big mistake on your end. The least you can do is accept that.
What? So being open about decisions is now damage control? Your salt has made you delusional Also, who the **** doesn't know that you can't alter files after the submission deadline? Why would there even be a submission deadline if that weren't the case?
Can we not argue about the fact that the contest isn't perfect. Contests are never, ever perfect. I would like to see some more clearly defined guidelines for running contests in the future. I feel like they've come a long way overall, and I've liked some of the steps taken in this particular contest. At the same time, it feels like there are always basic things that get messed up. The one that stands out here is using bookmarks as official maps for testing. Judges should always download all of the maps so they guarantee they have an untarnished version of the map. It shouldn't be on the participants to assure that. Moving forward, I think it would be good to have a 1 week period where files must remain untouched, and judges must download all maps within that time frame.
Yeah lets not turn this into a purity spiral of who ****ed up less as a judge. We all know it doesn't matter at this point.
I voted yes. The last time I partook in a contest was the H2A Halloween contest, and I ended up winning myself a free copy of Halo 5. Not relevant, just wanted to remind ya'll that you're all suckas
I still feel like a lot of this is my fault for not giving the judges enough time to get their ducks in a row before we posted the rules. I was too hasty in wanting to please the community, and released what I see now as an incomplete product. Where have I seen this before..... It's on the tip of my tongue but I just can't seem find it....
