    Unearthed is a symmetrical BTB map taking place in an abandoned open-pit mine with a giant digger in the middle. It supports Big Team Slayer, Big Team CTF, Big Team Assault and Big Team Strongholds.

    The map has a circular layout, but built in many layers like the open mine it is. It was created with vehicle and infantry combat in mind, giving place to driveable roads, wide open spaces and close quarters combat areas.
    There are actually four layers/levels of terrain and they are all linked to create a fluid gameplay.

    The map features two Team Main Bases and two secondary bases (Loading Zone & Outpost). There are many ways to attack and defend each of these buildings, players can overwhelm the enemy team by cutting through the vehicle entrances, or climb their way to the interior. The Yard is great for ambushes and large combat scenarios, also it's the first area to be pushed because of the Overshield resting at the center.

    Maybe the biggest point of interest is the giant digger in the mid, where the Spartan Laser spawns. Players can make their way to the top by the large amount of mancannons scattered on the map. A perfect area for close quarters combats and securing bottom areas. To counter big areas, players got Wasps and Rocket Hogs to create mayhem around the map.

    To achieve a good balance, great fluid and not lose scale, I went through a methodic process: I placed in first place blocks of 128, 64 and 32 units, creating a concentric layout and the first layers of the circuits. Then, I tested it while driving a mongoose and a warthog until it fit well for a BTB map size. This map took me at first around 25 hours of forging, then it took several tweaks and testing (two months exactly). But I can rest in peace while knowing that my map ended up like I wanted, working pretty well for medium and big parties (12-16 players).

    Unearthed is an overall fun play, looks great, has cool bases, and has a neat theme. Unearthed never really found its final design. It’s a fun experience playing different game types on Unearthed. A Jack of all trades, but a master of none. I find myself wanting more from Unearthed, but I’m not quite sure what.
  2. This is a very fun map that tries to do something different with it's core gameplay by adding a beautiful and very nicely detailed excavation drill towers above this quarry arena. I have had a blast with CTF and strongholds.

    Artur is a proficient forger from what I have seen from this map with his two homes bases being fun, spacious areas that serve as the flag spawns.

    My own only small critiques would be to elevate the outside perimeter of the map to give infantry more vertical over the Mantis which usually can hold a considerable hold on the middle of the map and having an additional lift up to the top quarry. There have been issues with the sniper being severely op on the top excavation drill. But I can say that jumping on the top of the drill and fights above can be intense and fun when the whole team isnt camping up there lol.

    However this map has had a healthy helping of updates, solid gameplay and a very cool aesthetic. A definite download for Unearthed.

  3. Amazing map and incredible attention to detail possibly one of my favorites!! The only things I'd change is to make the fog a bit less overbearing possibly by changing the near fogs brightness to 2.5, changing the distant fogs thickness to 1.0 and adding the warm filter. Remove the overshield from the weapon pad and just have it on its own. This is only my opinion and I think the map is beautiful as is but I think you should try it to see if you like it.     To start off, the environment looks amazing, really well done on that front. the bases feel pretty solid as well as a very interesting shaping of terrain.

    Now for the really BIG gameplay issue: the top middle the way it is now is far too powerful, with only 2 gravelifts up and a ton of cover, it would make it impossible for anyone to shoot the people down from there without actually taking the lifts. What would happen is people going up the lift would get teamshot to all hell before they even get halfway up the lift.

    The ways to address this would be to create lines of sight to expose the upper area somehow or eliminate that upper area from being traversable entirely. I love the visual of the digger and I believe you knocked that aspect out of the park, just gameplay will be a huge issue until that is addressed.

    First of all, thanks for the compliments xDemption, I really put my heart in this project. What I wanted was a layout that could work with vehicles and infantry. With that in mind, I made the digger traversable, so players can have action far from the vehicles and it's the home of some objectives and power weapons.

    About your feedback: You got a point about the big digger. On Slayer, that area would be overpowered because of the cover and the vertical superiority. Maybe in CTF and Strongholds it doesn't because the objectives were placed in a way the players need to move around the map and they can't just stay/camping in one place.

    With these facts on the table (both mine and yours), I decided to give more lines of sight to the top mid, deleting some cover. Also, I added more ways to charge the Digger so attacking players can have a chance if the enemy team esconced on top mid. For me, the Digger is an essential piece of the map and because of its size, it must be playable, adding more diversity to the gameplay. That's why I decided to keep it and added the changes you suggested.

    Hope now it's more balanced for a satisfying gameplay.

    There are 2 mancannons launching Spartans into a rock column.

    Also vehicles in the bases and Mantis were on physic fix, prevent players to move when they want to drive these vehicles.

    Don't know if you changed this in this update.

    Also I really love that map... Everything on it is awesome and it must be included in Big Team Battle playlist...

    Thanks for the feedback dude! I wasn't aware of those issues, they would have ruined the experience. They have been fixed. :)
    And as I said to Coleman, 343i has reached out this map, hope it qualifies for MM. By now, hope you enjoy it on your customs.

    why do forge maps have more character then halo 5 maps created by 343? That makes me sad.
