    Twice Foreaken in an asymmetrical map based on the design Imminent by Pwnytar and sic from Halo CE 1.5. It consists of 4 towers around the map, a central bridge, and a series of teleporters linking various sections. It was stylized in the aesthetic theme of Halo CE's Two Betrayals mission. The map is set up for Slayer and Strongholds game types.

    In light of recent events, I feel compelled to stress this map is really not mine. It's Pwnytar and Sic's man. Their design Imminent was ultimately what this map aimed to be and improve upon. I did not want for this map to be treated as mine, and consequentially, I did not want this map to be mired by name. If I could turn back time, I would have asked another forger publish this other than myself, because ultimately, Pwnytar deserved better than this being attached to my name. Pwnytar was a great person, loved by all and very influential in the forge community. It's a great shame he was torn from us well before his time. He deserves better than this.

  1. So I've been meaning to leave this review for quite a while. I think everyone deserves to know how incredible this map is. It's everything you could ever want in a 4v4 map in Halo 5. It's got excellent player cycling that matches even the best doubles maps. It's got flexible sightlines. Interesting gameplay variance through multiple game types. It gives teams countless opportunities to set up, lock down, and move on whenever they need to. It's got literally perfect scaling to keep the awful spawn system in this game from falling apart, varied battles. Awesome weapon timers. Incredible verticality that's not overbearing, but there when it's needed. The map provides rifles that don't completely **** on the sightlines. The teles couldn't have better placement. And every single update you've made to it continues to fine tune the map. The forging itself is mediocre and kinda sloppy, but honestly it's been so long since there's been a 4v4 map this good so I don't care. Good work man. 9/10
  2. Speaking on behalf of the gameplay, this map functions exactly as it should. I have never had unfair encounters or exploitable positions. It forces you to circulate the map and draw out encounters. The teleports create interesting flanks or escape routes. I know you've cleaned up the map a ton since we first began testing it, and I have to say... It still holds up. Well done Tyler.

    This has been a long time coming but here it is. Twice forsaken, a testament to CE and the classic style of gameplay takes you on a journey of learning and challenging gameplay. Balanced through making use of movement and lines of sight, each area you move into you have to be on your toes and think critically of positioning. High points can create opportunity, but can be flanked when you push correctly.

    Aesthetically clean and sleek, calling back to the days of old with it's simple yet elegant design. The atmosphere speaks true to two betrayals, thinking back it struck me how well you have accomplished this.

    After helping you with changes and seeing how well you took the feedback, it daunted on me to make sure to give credit where credit is due. Sometimes you can be a pain in the butt schnitzel, but I give credit where credit is due.

    Well done, and I hope you continue to improve.

    Excellent map. 4 of us played it with Rockets and had a blast. Several actually.

    Aesthetically pleasing as well. If I may suggest: change the color of the grav lift light to something further away from the color of your teleporters. There were a couple of disorienting moments.

    Also I found a ledge in the pit that you could probably fix in 2 seconds.

    This is a very well-made map; I loved the theme! The way many of the structures were organized was clearly reminiscent of the Two Betrayals style you were trying to pull off. I played a match of slayer on this a couple days ago and I had a blast.

    The only things I would say you should touch up on are the named location volumes and some small areas that showed z-fighting. Also, I managed to find a way to get out of the map while checking it out in a custom game (http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Lil Black BUBBA/video/13671279), so don't forget to either patch that up more or add some kill boundaries.

    Other than that, I think the map's fantastic. Great job!

    Yeah, the getting out of the map exploit was a slight over sight on my part. I patched that in a recent version a couple days ago. As for z-fighting... I don't get it man. I get rid of z-fighting where it crops up, then after a couple games it appears somewhere else as if the pieces are shifting. A bit frustrating as I'm not exactly one for leaving z-fighting on my maps. :/

    Saved a new file, getting rid of the "v4" suffix. New file has several changes, as listed below.

    • Optimized some piece usage
    • Swapped out decorative light pieces for shield generators
    • Knocked out walls and cleaned up space inside OS Tower
    • Widened all doorways
    • Significantly widened doorway at Snipe building
    • Redesigned all doors to have same aesthetic
    • Incorporated "trolly" Scattershot ledge into the map properly with a new area
    • Removed BRs, added a second Light Rifle

    Your last picture showed the top of the main bridge instead of underneath it. I think the new shot looks good.

    One final note I didn't put in the review.


    There isn't a single 4v4 map in Halo 5 that plays better than this map. And honestly I doubt there's going to be.
