Map Description

  1. Xandrith
    Most people can't stand the cold, but we move in circles around each other. Unafraid of chilled winter kisses and dark blue skies made of ice, we duel atop the mountains of snowy lightning.

    Ladies and Gentleman, I finally present to you my final forge creation, Storm Peaks.

    Special thanks to these guys;

    MultiLockOn for constant advice and playtesting.

    Purely Fat for inspiring the layout with a co-forge that never got finished.

    Buddy Jumps for creating the wooden spiral staircases for me in the large tower.

    The infamous most dangerous map in Halo. Your designs have come such a long way in this game alone it's crazy to look from "the map we won't name" to Cobalt and now Storm Peaks. Anyways, super cool layout that plays into the map's theme perfectly. Great verticality, great dueling, great movement options, great map overall. It's one of those designs that you love to learn, and you'll only have more and more fun as you become better at traversing the abysses. I loved the initial vision for the map and I think the design played out in a great way. Really good job with this one, 5 stars.

    This map is impressive if not solely for how many spiraling staircases it has. On a technical level, the meticulous Forging that went into this design is a marvel in its own right.

    Storm Peaks is a welcome deviation off of formulaic structural designs and is by far Xandrith's most distinguished layout. The dueling towers make for twitchy cross map engagements, but a close quarter encounter is never more than a drop and a teleport away. This unique dynamic keeps the pace of combat high and it makes for very energetic matchups. The fresh and ridiculously vertical metagame is complimented by its weapon set and their strategically placed locations.

    Storm Peaks is a great precedent for doing small scale 2v2 design right. I have a lot of fun playing on this map despite how many times I fall off of it.

    Wait, "final forge creation"? I was really hoping for a 4v4 map after this :(. All well, this looks fantastic anyway.

    I find it pretty arrogant to not give a shoutout to any people, who helped you with this project. I'm not saying this because of me primarily, since there are most likely other people that played a much bigger role in the overall evolution of this map.
    It seems like Multi didn't think about them either while making his map post, but at least he reminded himself and posted them afterwards. Someone had to bring it up, don't hate me. I wouldn't even bother too much, if you didn't say these exact words in a thread:

    "So yeah, that's it. Which one of you lucky folk would like to have their name at the very bottom of my map post AND have my appreciation? How could anyone pass up such an incredible opportunity?"

    I don't think it's fair to call me ignorant.

    I've been working a lot lately, which is in part why I took so long to release the map. I'm sure you can understand me when I say that I just wanted to get the map out there the second It was finished, and therefore spent less than a few minutes on the thread, which was posted at 5 in the morning.

    I'll add the shout-outs when I get the chance.
