In map design I have been trying to find ways to push myself to make things Im less comfortable with and to improve my knowledge of player engagements. This is another test for myself to see that I could complete and balance to my best ability an Asymmetrical map. Ive actually had the concept for Stomping Ground rolling around in my head for years and have attempted in the past to build out what I imagined however I never really could get to a point where I felt confident in what I had built.
This meant for me that Stomping Ground was a grate place for me to start to try and work on the skills I felt I was lacking. Thanks to the wonderful help of some of my friends (LEEK, Bleach and Squally DaBeans) Ive finally pushed through to something I feel not only confident in but proud of as well. Some of the inspiration for this map were the prior Halo dev maps Truth and Guardian, however I felt the verticality could be pushed a little more because of the Halo 5 abilities so its something else I wanted to push in this maps design.
