2v2 Slayer

Map Description

  1. ShamaL1ama
    Obsidian is an asymmetrical 4-8 player map designed with Team Slayer, KOTH and Oddball in mind. I tried to keep the layout of the map rather simple and sleek despite the fact there are varying elevations and a number of trick jumps.

    Weapons:

    That looks pretty sweet, always love seeing these non concrete maps! More maps need to be made like this!

    Thanks! Yeah I spent a long time making sure the map looked as good as it could possibly get using those pieces. I think it turned out pretty well for my first asymmetrical map.

    Also I am testing a new version with Invisibility instead of brute shot on that top platform and no overshield on gold L which should aid in getting into Red Side as it is less open as Blue Side.

    Looks great! I personally think the concrete can get kind of stale, so I'm glad you made a rare and great looking map.

    Thank you! I completely agree that more maps should be made using these objects.

    I'm really curious to see how this map would play with a 4v4 as I haven't been able to get a full game on it yet. I've done a 1v1 when it had teleporters on it and even then it was still big so I'm thinking 3v3, maybe 4v4 would work? If 4v4 works then I might consider suggesting it for HCS if that is still going on.

    First I want to say that this map has a great look in my opinion! I have to walk around and check everything out to give more feedback tho.

    As for 4v4 I think one sniper and 1 camo is not really that much. I guess the brute shot on the picture is not on the map anymore since the OS picture is also from the older version?

    But yeah I will have more to say after walking around.

    Yeah I originally designed the map for 1v1 or 2v2 but over time it grew in size. I'm not that great at weapon placement so any ideas after you walk around it would be helpful. I think Camo and sniper would work well on the map but their locations can move around if necessary. I agree there needs to be at least one more power weapon though.

    I see you finished! It looks fantastic, and I really want to get a 2v2 on here. But beware, with an all metal map comes the loss of depth perception. :p haha just kidding its better in every way.

    Thank you! I actually just changed a few things around, lol. I'll update the pictures in a bit. A forgers work is never finished. I've played a 3v3 on here and a number of 2v2's and it played really well!! I've been trying to get a 4v4 to really put my spawns to the test but not too many people have been on.

    Also for that depth perception I used to have lights that lit up the back walls to give contrast but it caused framerate issues so I removed them. Still better than concrete and it still plays well. I'll make sure to get you into the next 2v2. I should be on tonight so send me a friend request so we can test it out.

    Latest update of pictures have been added. I finally got to test out a 4v4 on it so I just need to re-adjust spawns and then the map should be finished!

    It looks like I accidentally deleted the pictures for my map while trying to reupload the updated ones. I'm away from decent internet until tomorrow night so I'll have the newest version up by then. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    I've just accepted the fact that I will keep on editing this map into eternity but at least it is going to be really polished as I plan on remaking this in Halo 5. Pictures are up to date and it is currently in my file share (GT: ShamaL1ama).

    I edited the whole Blue side of the map to open it up more and to add more ways to traverse the area. I also added some rocks to add more contrast to the map as an all black map can get somewhat boring. With any updates to this map if anyone is down to help me test I would be completely down to test your map in return.
