    LORE
Still worshipped by the first settlers of New Japan on planet Reach, this ancient gold infused water treatment facility has been said to hold the key to eternal youth.

With dwindling reserve and a non-functioning facility the settlers turned to ONI for help, thinking only they had the resources for such a task. ONI had different plans.

They immediately began retrofitting the installation with human technology to try and harness its secrets...

    GAMEPLAY
Works with ALL Arena gametypes (including assault). Gilded Sanctum is a horseshoe shaped map with three elevations, two lifts on either end shorten theoretical distance to combat and teleporting between bottom and top add tons of options for the players.
The spawns have each team begin at the end of the hallway, you have the option of running forward toward the center where you will find the shotgun and Overshield or you can take the immediate stairs and find a Battle Rifle in each corner.
The third (and most exciting) option is the teleporter directly behind the initial spawn which brings you to the "basement" level of the treatment facility where you will find the other teams portal directly in front of you and more importantly the Beam Rifle. From the basement you can lift back up to the second level "yard" bridge or portal back to either base.

This map is focused on Arena Slayer, Strongholds, and Oddball for 2v2-6v6 combat.

    AUTHENTICITY
金 - is The Japanese symbol for Gold and since the name of the map is Gilded Sanctum I placed this symbol at the top of the atrium right in the middle of the map.

    8/5,
Played this map last Friday and really liked the looks. I got destroyed when I played so I def need to play it a few more times to get the layout down.

The only issue I noticed was not realizing exactly how to get down to the bottom floor. If we weren't playing strongholds I might not have known that area was there. Then again a few more plays and I'm sure it'll be obvious.

    10/5,
Excellent doubles map. Reminds of Ivory tower in a lot of ways even though it doesn't resemble it. Plays very similar, feels like a smaller map but plays like a large one. Love the maps design and presentation. One of the more interesting designs I've seen!
  3. I had a lot of fun playing on this map. Oddball played so well on it! Would definitely love to see this added to matchmaking. 343 pay attention!

    10/5,
First of, a beautiful map. Reminiscent of a few great halo 2 maps. The art style fits into this game perfectly. The movement on this map is great. You never feel trapped like you do on many other maps, with the addition of the portals on either side of bottom mid, and the grav lift. The fact that high ground is easily achieved here plays well with halo 5 verticality, and the addition of the beam rifle creats a great way to defend your position. Sight lines are great. I am a midrange support player, and I felt at home on here, and cover is just around the corner pretty much everywhere. Great map. Beautiful details, definately a keeper in my book.

Played a 3v3 on it. seemed to flow pretty well, great visuals of course, the cylinders make grenade bounces interesting, and the teleports keep the bases from becoming deadends. One con I find is the grav-lift because of how open it sets you.

I played a few matches last night as well and noticed exactly what you spoke of, I just updated the map with a wall between the atrium lift and middle. I think this should help the flow of the map and allow people to use the lift with more cover. I will post some pics of the change.

I really enjoyed this map when i went through and played it, but id like to get another game or two on it before reviewing it so that I may have more to say on it. I believe we already talked on some of the things i thought would help the map out after the last forged friday, and i believe you said you've changed them. Im interested to play again and see how it goes. I had some reservation as to the strong hold in bottom being to secluded, but as the game progressed so did the understanding of how to play the map and I feel like though it is out of site it is pretty well incorporated with the rest. Great work

I look forward to seeing you play the new version on stream tonight with some different game types, I appreciate all the great feedback and look forward to your review when you get more tests in. I am really trying to get this one into some competitive 2v2 - 4v4 MM play

    Take care,

This was last weeks feed back on the map summarized. I believe you watched the video but i like to write it down too.

Teleporters need more for oddball, one way going up or dont support oddball
    darken glass
drop storm rifles in favor of smg
    Back gold clamber routes

Im always here if you need help

I've made some sandbox changes again from Max's feedback lobby:

    - Beam Rifle is now located under the Atrium to encourage more movement to that side of the map and I removed the middle atrium lift to also encourage use of sneaky routes.

    - OS is now bottom basement.

    - Moved Storm Rifles to bottom RED/BLUE sneaky and cut ammo to 50%

    - The gold clamber routes are now a single climber to a small lift to speed up vertical travel time to BR towers.

    - Oddball with two-way teleporters caused some serious issues so I made some serious changes to the teleporters gameplay on the map.

    - BALL and BOMB teleporters go one-way from basement to back base now.

    - CTF teleporters go one-way from back base to basement.

SLAYER and STRONGHOLDS retain two-way teleporters for that was the initial design intent.

I would like to have you test Slayer and the objectives again with the changes and see how it plays for the group now.

    Thanks again!
