Fracture is a medium sized symmetrical BTB map that draws inspiration from the Halo Reach map "Breakpoint". It mainly consists of a large central structure, two bases, two supporting ramparts, a large tunnel in the back, and two large bridges. The map is best played with CTF and Assault.
The defining gameplay of this map is the focus on the dual Mantises, which act as major lane deterrents for other vehicles and infantry alike. The combination of the Mantises and the ease of movement throughout the map leads to intense tug of war matches. One side of the map connects the two bases with a long tunnel where vehicles can dominate. The lower side of the map is home to each teams rampart, with bridges connecting these structures to the middle. The middle of the map itself is an infantry playground, offering various different spaces for combat and creative movement to move from base to base. The bases are small and simple with large vehicle tunnels in the back and trenches in front, and are best approached from the sides.
None of the updates to Fracture over the years have been reflected in this post, so here we go:
-Glacier rocks have been replaced by asteroid rocks.
-Visual filter and lighting have been changed to make the map darker and foggier.
-Additional assets have been added to improve visuals on the map.
-Textures have been added to many primitives and other objects to improve visuals on the map.
-Railings on bridges have been raised to better block cross map lines of sight.
-Railings have been added around the drill platform death pit.
-"Traffic cone icicles" have been replaced by actual icicle assets.
-Rock spires next to each rampart have been made more symmetrical.
-Lighting colors have been changed to better distinguish different areas and sides of the map.
-Projectile blockers have been added to all stairs.
-Various broken clambers and other bugs have been fixed.
-Tactical Magnum has been added in the middle of the tunnel.
-Rooms have been added behind each base for additional spawning.
-Tunnels where Ghosts spawn have been opened and connected to back spawn rooms.
-Spawns have been overhauled and significantly improved.
