Remember New Alexandria from Reach? Did you know that Reach was terraformed and New Alexandria rebuilt? The covenant knew it also and then they attacked it. Again... Escape or die!
This map is build on the Disk-Map Empire!
I needed a city canvas, so I broke out of Empire and started building.
The map has the perfect Grifball court size and it is just on the red side open (you will die, when you jump of the roof). There is just one sidewalk and the rest is on the same level.
But there are stairs, which let you enter an underwater area. Your screen gets also an under FX and when you leave the water, your screen gets a short time just a heat FX. This should simulate the downflowing water after leaving the "pool". It also can hide you from the other pool side.
The ball returns have two quarter circles, which rotate by 45° after someone goals. This should bring more dynamic into the map.
== PRO VARIENT==
So, what makes the PRO varient so pro?
A normal Grifball court should have certain rules:
- you can see everyone from every spot of the map
- no structures that stops the player from moving
The normal varient clearly does not follow the rules, so I made a pro varient.
Everthing is on the same level. The bridge railings are moved down and the water is blocked by energy glass, so you cannot access it anymore. There are also no circles around the ball returns and you cannot jump of the roof on the red side anymore. And all trees were replaced by plants, so you can just go through them. Also, the fence gates on the building side are replaced with cover railings.
This changes should fix every rule violations and should be match making ready!
