crossbow is a heavy re-imagining or halo 4's longbow taking various aspects of longbow while implementing new areas to create a layout that hold elements of longbow but brings out a new form and new experience that can stand apart from the original.

The map has undergone a large update
This major update is based around improving all of the maps weakest areas.
The technical changes consist of.
1. spawning improvements.
2. greatly improved performance/frame rate drops
3. lighting adjustments.
4. art work.
The biggest area to see change is the bases.
1. entrances being added and moved.
one door was added to the bases and another was re-positioned. This was done to have better movement into and out of the bases.
2. large sight line blocker added to the front exterior of the bases.
The addition of the large pipe structure created a lot of blocked line of sights which changes depending on the angle of you're approach. This allows players to navigate around the bases without being exposed from as many lines of sight.
3. vehicle access.
previously vehicles where unable to enter the majority of the bases. This has been changed and now the mongoose, ghost, warthogs have full access of the bases. The mantis is restricted and is unable to enter the base.
4. Dynamic doors.
The large base bay doors now have a one time use opening event and begin closed at the start of
5. objective positions.
The assault and ctf objective positions where move to the front center of the bases to improve pushes from all angles. This decreased the bases defend-ability and allowed for better objective movement.
The other area of the map to undergo change is the back tunnel and terrain plateaus.
1. The tunnel.
The tunnel was and is a vehicle intended route but was overly difficult for infantry to move though and the change that it saw was a large back platform that players can utilize as cover from passing vehicles.
2. The terrain plateaus.
The change was a simple addition of a ramp for vehicles.
