Map Description

  1. Zandril

    *This map is ideally played with 10-12 players. 14 can work but it can get really fast-paced.

    Boarding Pass is a map I originally made in Halo 4. I made it again in Halo 2 Anniversary with a couple changes and improvements. And now, I've brought it to Halo 5 and it's bigger and better than it has ever been.

    Now that Forge is more powerful, I was able to make the map as I always envisioned it. Two trains instead of one, both trains extending outwards, two floors in the restaurant, and many more.

    Restaurant. Two floors, several entrances to watch.

    Crate room. Two levels. Humans can't camp the corners if they want to live. They need to constantly be checking the different entrances.

    Suitcase room. Three entrances into this area and it links to the second floor of the restaurant. You can move those small suitcases around btw

    Bathroom. Houses the Saw spawn.

    All holdout locations in the map were carefully planned to ensure balance. Humans will never feel completely safe in one spot and the Infected will always have multiple approaches in taking out the humans.

    Several power weapons are scattered around the map and some of the best ones(Saw & Magnum) are close to the Infected initial spawn. This allows the Infected to set proper traps by the power weapons and encourages the humans to be cautious and coordinated when they're moving across the map.

    A great Infection map indeed. The map has a nice flow that keeps things interesting from multiple playthroughs. It does a great job of making sure there isn't that one over powered spot that everyone gos to. The map is very zombie friendly without making them too power full.

    Theme overall theme of a metro station is absolutely sold here. I love the way you have made the trains. I rate this my 5 stars because I was thinking of building a train map as well. Seeing someone else have that idea and make it come true before me makes that little Zore on the inside smile. :)

    Overall great map. Hoping this make the playlist in the future.
    (P.s That is the most public bathroom I've ever seen!)
  3. Map is cool all it needs is some name locations which would be difficult its just optional.

    Dude this looks sick! Love the quality of the trains. Incredible amount of details that makes me want to explore the whole place. Definitely will have to download this and check it out. Good work man.

    I've always found subway themes to be very interesting and I think you've really pulled off your interpretation of it well. Bringing it to Halo 5 did it a lot of justice, but I feel like the coloring of some of the areas is a bit awkward. For example, I wish the main flooring tone weren't that neutral green hue; having the grey tones in those areas really makes it stick out. I also feel like the colors in the restaurant could be a bit bolder and inviting as they seem dull by themselves and the grey tones of the rest of the map amplify that dullness, sadly. Finally, I feel like the cargo areas could be a bit more distinctive from the main corridors, as they share the same color scheme and so I would find it nice to see the cargo rooms go with a more industrial/functional look. Your piece-usage does help with that distinctive look though, so I think pushing some more unique colors would distinguish it to a greater effect. I would try and add more detail to the commercial corridors such as the Suitcase Room and the areas present in the 'More Pics' section as they do read a bit flat, though I do understand the struggle with hitting the piece-count :(. I really enjoy the structuring of the train cars; I hope their interiors (if they're accessible) are as detailed and interesting.

    All in all, I'm liking how this is turning out. I think it still needs a bit of polishing here and there but I'm happy to see this theme pulled off as well as it has!! :)

    I never thought the colors were a problem but I'm very open to any specific suggestions you might have. You're right regarding my struggles with the budget and that's why I wasn't able to make certain areas as detailed as I would like. Other than the budget, I also had issues with framerate which led to me deleting some extra pieces.

    But the colors don't have anything to do with the piece count so I'm quite willing to see what you had in mind. Maybe you could show me first-hand in forge?

    Of course. I'm going to be busy for the next week and a half until the end of RTX in early July but I'd love to jump on and experiment with a few different ideas. I have a few thoughts as to what I'd mess with but I'm sure things will change slightly when I get to play with it hands-on.

    ...& I apparently completely missed the clear shot of the open and traversable train car, my bad!
