Halo 3 Photoshop Panorama Turorial
If you don't know what a Halo3 Panorama is, here's an example.
Generally they are horizontal but you can make them as desired.
Anyway...
To make a Panorama you firstly need to grab the images from the game itself. Panoramas work well if you can find a nice scene with a lot of action or at least some focus point with a nice background. Up to you, go use you're photography skills =P
For your first Panorama don't try going to big, just a few screenshots will do. Try about 3-5 screenshots to start with and see how that turns out.
Screenshots -
When you're in theater mode try to find a good vantage point to take the pictures from. When you have a found position do not zoom in or out and
do not move. Moving can make the picture turn out pretty bad.
I would show you an example but I deleted it... Good thing too =\
When in your position only use the right thumbstick to take the pictures. Make sure to keep about 40% of each image present on the shot next to it. Not too much but just enough to make sure photoshop can understand what you're trying to do.
Yes this tutorial is for photoshop, I'm sure there are other programs out there but this is the most popular in my opinion.
Collecting your images -
Now that you have taken you're pictures and you are signed into Xbox Live while doing so, your pictures will have been uploaded to your fileshare.
So now run along to your profile on
Bungie.net and save your images. You want the bigger version.
Photoshop, here we come -
So now you have your screenshots, what do you do with them?
Open up Photoshop and go to File>Automate>Photomerge
A window will open up. You want to click
Browse and select the screenshots you saved.
Also leave the option on
Auto in the top left.
Make sure the
Blend images together option is ticked.
Once you have select all your screenshots click
OK and wait for your image to be ready.
Finishing Touches -
When it's finished you will want to merge all the layers
And when you've done that you will end up with something like this -
Using the crop tool select the area you want to keep and leave out the ares that are
undesirable.
You should end up with something pretty like this -
Now seeing how you're still in Photoshop, you should pretty it up. Do whatever you want with it =]
I like to use the
level tool in the Image>Adjustments menu. Have fun =D
Oh and one last thing... Please give your images a border... They look much better.
