Banshee Tango

Banshee Tango
Banshee Bundles Grandchild

Made By Prodigious 7k.
If you don't want to read the full description, please at least read the green sections of text, thanks.

The inspiration
As some of you may know i made a map called Banshee Bundle (my most downloaded map to date) a while back. It was the FIRST of its kind to work properly as a banshee race map (2). It was good fun but i wasn't happy with it. Because it was made as an experiment to see if the concept was worth building upon i didn't bother with aesthetics or worry too much about the path that the banshees took. The experiment turned out to be very successful with minor misunderstandings about the game that i cleared up and i hope i will explain fully this time around. So, because of this success i have descided to make a better banshee race map called, Banshee Tango.

How the game works
  • Everyone needs to be on indervidual teams.
  • They have to try and be the first to the point each time.
  • The first to 50 points wins (5 clean laps uncontested).
  • You need to boost as much as posible to win, this means lining up points for minimum turning, just like a mongoose track.
  • The game is very similar to rocket race in many ways , just in a structured path.
Information about the concept and gameplay.
  • Cutting in and cutting conrers is NOT cheating, it is intentional so nobody is left out.
  • There should be no deaths in the game, for Health and Safety reasons the Guardians are off, you do no damage so dying can only happen by assination and you are all in vehicles so this does not happen,if you are using SKYRACETRACKSV2 or later you will not die from boosting into a post (this was a problem with SKYRACETRACKS). It is also in the floor level, this means you cannot fall through the floor like the its sky bubble counterparts.
  • It has been pointed out that the banshee flying engine on Halo 3 is not amazing, to combat this i have made the track accomodate this, the corners are just right for banshee in a hurry.
  • The Go-To-Points are slightly smaller than on the original Banshee Bundle so there is a little more skill involved.
The gametype
  • Nobody deals damage and everyone is invulnerable.
  • First to 50 points wins.
  • Points move in order and on arrival.
  • Vehicles are indestructable.
Map Screenshots
Here are some screenshots of the maps features including additions to the map that weren't there in Banshee Bundle:

An overview

Starting positions

A Go-To-Point

One of four lit up signs

A corner

Gameplay Screenshots
Here are some random screenshots which show the game in play:

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the map. It is very similar to Banshee Bundle but I reccommend you download this one instead of it because it is better in pretty much every way.

(2) If you know of one from before Banshee Bundle was posted on forgehub other than the one mentioned in the thread please notify me and the description will be changed

Yes! I have been waiting for a racetrack for flying vehicles forever!
I haven't played it yet because it's been out for about a minute but I can't wait for friends to get on!
Um back to the map, the arrows are really cool. So are the flags behind the banshee spawns.

Thanks for the comment, a little more about the map would have been welcome but thanks none the less. If you had been waiting, the previous version was out over a month ago now, you should have searched on the database, it's currently in the top 25 viewed.

Thanks for the comment, i was considering sandtrap because not everyone has mythic, but it would be annoying with the lack of immovable objects. I was supprised myself that nobody had worked this concept really, its quite fun.

It still baffels (is that even a word) me that no one thought of making a racetrack for flying vehicles. I found this version was more interesting than the previous one you made. It is definatley fun and the only thing i can critise if i really had to is that you can get lost at points (maybe im just dumb just think it dont spam up this thread). Anyway despite this tiny problem the concept is brilliant and the map really shows it off. Definatley worth a dl loads of fun

You say this but in the game featured in the video, you beat me by 9 points, so it can't have been a massive problem. Thanks for the comment anyway buddy, see ya around.

Interesting.... Very original. I, myself, haven't seen a flying race before, I'm sure theres been other though. But I like it. Good idea putting in the arrows. It would be neat if in order to get enough alititude fast enough for one of the checkpoints, you had to do the A + Stick Back trick.

I did seriously consider putting a trick in like that, but most people wouldn't understand and would miss it, it would take a few annoying attempts to get what to do and by this time they could lose patience with the game. So i thought it best to keep it simple, besides its still very fun.

i really like this and the video shows how well it really works. i will DL and let you know more after a hands on.

if you do another one like this you should put in the skybubble(a lot more space) and like someone said, make it so you have to use the flip. and some nice stuff to look at and fly around.
