Default Jump Course Map Pack

Jump Course Overview
Jump training

Essentially, this is a map pack of challenging jumps involving precision and skill. And is in no way a simple jump a crap load type course. There are only a few jumps (5 for each course) and they range from extremely challenging to relatively challenging. As well, the purpose for these is to make you a better jumper in halo (i.e. get better at knowing when, where, and how is best to jump). But most of all this is a map to put your skills to the test against your fellow party members. The first one to the finish is the winner.

Now there is a basic layout that is used for these maps and that is as follows: There are checkpoints for multiple areas (generally two jumps per area) and if you fail on one or the other of the jumps you have to start over at the beginning of said checkpoint. Now any tele at ground level (map geometry ground) will take you back to the start of the checkpoint. Any raised tele will take you to the next area. Once you have reached the final jump there will be a hill rather than a tele, cap one sec and you win.

Jump Course I
Jump training for beginners

Map Variant
Game Variant

1st Jump

To make this jump simply run jump and hold crouch (crouch jump)
Difficulty: Very Easy

2nd Jump

This jump is a timing test. In order to make it to the bridge elevated off the ground you must jump at just the right time so that your feet do not touch the wall, and so that your head does not hit the double box.(jump crouch required)
Difficulty: Mild

3rd Jump

Shoot out the gravlift (generally two to three times), and just as the crate gets two the ground jump onto it. Once the crate reaches the highest point of its lift (the first lift is the highest one) jump crouch to the raised platform.
Difficulty: Normal

4th Jump

This jump involves both puzzle and jumping elements. The first step is to get the soccer ball in the position as pictured (push into the shield doors and get it over the vertical one). Then the hard part. Jump crouch onto the soccer ball as it bounces around and uncrouch right as you hit it. Jump crouch again right as you uncrouch and the soccer ball should splatter you just enough to give you a little extra distance.
Difficulty: Mildly Hard

Final Jump

In order to make the jump here a little finesse is required (as well as some patience). Jump onto the crate, and slowly start to rock it back and forth. Right as it starts to tip over (towards the goal) jump crouch off an towards the platform. If done at the wrong time one of two things will happen: A. You will hit your head
B. You will miss entirely; So make sure you time it just right or else you'll have to wait. **TIP - to make the crate respawn faster get as far away from it as you can and avoid all contact**
Difficulty: Very Hard

Jump Course II
Jump training for intermediates

Map Variant
Game Variant

1st Jump

This is another jump crouch, but it requires perfect timing. if you don't jump at the very last possible millisecond you wont be able to make it
Difficulty: Mildly Hard

2nd Jump

The domino jump involves extreme precision and quick jumps. Jump from the top of each pallet around the corner and up to the tele.
Difficulty: Normal

3rd Jump

This jump is particularly useful for those times when you need to get out of a vehicle quickly and in the right place. Hop in the mongoose, drive as fast as you can down the hallway, hit the shield door and hop off the vehicle, and hopefully manage to hit your mark (the raised bridge on its side). Once you have landed on the bidge jump crouch up to the teleporter across the room.
Difficulty: Hard

4th Jump

This is perhaps the most fun you will have failing at life. Shoot the wirespool to get it rolling then quickly hop onto it; back pedal to avoid falling as it rolls down the ramp. Then at the last second jump crouch off the spool and onto the platform.
Difficulty: Very Hard

Final Jump

Grab one of the deployable covers, throw it into the gravlift and just as you do that jump up and onto the cover, ride it as far forward and as far up as you can and then jump crouch for the platform.
Difficulty: Very Hard

Jump Course III
Jump training for experts

Map Variant
Game Variant

1st Jump

Grav/Crouch Jump involves a jump crouch with harder timing elements than in previous jump crouches. Now your not only moving at running speed your moving at that plus grav lift speed. As well if the jump is not performed at the last possible second the jump will be short and you will not make it.
Difficulty: Hard

2nd Jump

The propane double jump is very similar to that of a grenade jump. The propanes are floating in air yet unmovable. Jump across to the top of the first propane tank, punch to ignite and time the jump just so your feet leave the tank as it bursts. Land on the next and repeat (but head upward this time).
Difficulty: Hard

3rd Jump

The Grav/Pallet jump involves perfect timing and quick reactions. First run into the pallet, jump right as the grav lift catches it, soar through the air, land on the pallet, and then run and jump off the pallet to the platform.
Difficulty:Hard+

4th Jump

The street cone jump involves quick jumping perfection. Jump right as you hit or the street cone, and you, will fall. As well, the street cones are small targets so be precise in your landings...
Difficulty: Very Hard

Final Jump

This jump started initially as... "What could I make that no one could do???" But eventually it became a reality. The Grav/Soccer Ball Double Jump involves just what the name implies. Jump on top the soccer ball slowly walk backwards to get the ball rolling forward. Move you and the ball into the angled grav lift. Ride atop the ball to the peak of its lift. Jump off the ball at the exact rate as the ball's movement. Watch the ball bounce from the raised shield doors. Land on the soccer ball which is still mid-air; run and jump off of the soccer ball towards the platform.
Difficulty: Impossible... Except not really (has been done and repeated many-a-times by myself and only myself)

{After Thoughts} Well I'm DONE With Jump Course but by no means am I done with jumping maps. Just a little tease here; there is a more elaborate course in the works that will please you ninja fans... :)

Yeah, some of the obstacles really do look tough. From the screen shots, I'd say this is a pretty tight concept. nice job!

It looks like you could play it once, and then move on to a different map.
