Puzzling Plight

My Focus for this Map: My focus was to deliver a very challenging map that would feel very rewarding when the person successfully completes each challenge.

Intro:
Puzzling Plight is by far the most time consuming map I’ve ever made. It has literally taken me two weeks of hard work to get it to a point where I feel comfortable sharing it online. It consists of eight challenges that require you to be very observant, make precision shots (mainly in the final challenge.), and just being very patient. This map was created by Krazy198 and I (Challenges 3, 4 and 6 were created by Krazy198, the rest by me).

For Those Who Get Stuck:
I have provided four options for those who get stuck completing my map: you download the video of me completing this map, look at some of the spoiler pictures I have provided, look at the hints I have provided or just send me a message.

Hints/Pictures (SPOILERS):

Challenge 1 - Have faith and throw.

Challenge 2 - Hey what’s that to your right?

Spoiler

Challenge 3 - Come on now, don’t let this trick you.

Challenge 4 - I think you might be missing something.

Challenge 5
Part I - Observe your surroundings.
Part II - Do you really think I’m that bad at making straight walls?

spoiler

Challenge 6 - How tall is that plasma shield?

Challenge 7 - Just don’t go too far to the right.

Challenge 8 - If only I had something that could shoot between those plasma shields.
Spoiler
Spoiler

Tip: Something is hiding in the earlier stages could really make this go faster.

Now for my apologies, challenge 1 and 5 occasionally don’t function when they should (no matter what I try!) I spent so much time trying to fix this problem but failed, Los siento.

LEADERBOARDS
If there is enough interest I will update a leaderboard with the people who can complete the map fastest. To qualify for the leaderboards, you must complete every challenge in the map with my gametype for the map and post a link to a video that I will watch to make sure you’re not cheating.

Top Times:
1. Buddhacrane - 1:58
2. Beyond Skill198 - 2:53

COMMENTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED, if you find any glitches or cool ways to complete some of the challenges, please let me know. Let me know what you think of my map, it’s taken so much work to complete.

ENJOY THE MAP!

NEW MAP!

Looks pretty good.
ALthough, I was never really a fan of these kind of maps. They frustrate me.
GREAT JOB

I must be thick because I can't find a link to the map in your post, found the gametype, just not the map.

I'll have to look on your fileshare or something I guess...

I'll let you know how I fair (and I'll try and beat that speed record too!)

Edit: Well I've given it a go, pretty nice map. Bit on the easy side for someone like me. Kudos for not using turret clipping though!

Here's a vid of my speed run, managed to do it in under 2 mins. (New record, Rargh!)

And here's a vid of me breaking the map allowing me to do it in under 1 min.

For the long time I've been utilizing ForgeHub for quality maps, I've never seen a puzzle map that uses the area outside the windows. Based on the quality of Store Front, (I DL'd it a few days ago) this map looks like a good time; I'll DL and add to this post soon.

EDIT: After going through in Forge, I found that the outside-the-map challenge was impossible for me to get through. I honestly didn't spend a lot of time there, but the multiple ways I tried to get past were unsuccessful. I finally got past when I switched to Editor and flew to the teleporter.

Other than that, the map had a few kinks that need ironing out, and the extreme number of cracks proved problematic for me. The number of 'nades I threw into each crack vastly exceeded the number of 'nades your gametype would provide, (I used regenerating 'nades) so if you were to fix up the cracks, any confusion would be minimized, if not eliminated.

Overall, an interesting map that tested my observation skills. Worth a try for beginning puzzle-solvers, but SAW fans would probably have no trouble getting through.

Current Project: (Unnamed)
Status: Cleaning up and smoothing bumps
Description: Now that restoration processes are nearing completion, this ancient temple will see new life.

Next Project: ???
