I don't think any punishment should be executed in the instance of that thread because it does not deserve a lock based on the subject that this website presents.

Infractions exist for a reason. They are a means for punishment when someone commits an offense. Being lenient isn't the correct thing to do, though perhaps the morally right (though one could argue that morality doesn't exist in a halo forum).

A lock punishes the innocent. An infraction punishes the guilty. If everyone was spoiling it may be appropriate to lock if this forum was dedicated to that topic but if someone ruined harry potter or twilight I would hardly expect a lock or any infractions to be given out. The whole system is arbitrary and, in terms of your conduct, the whims of your personal fantasy.

Because there are various courses of action for various offenses. When someone spoils you infract but you don't cease discussion all together because some bad apples f'd it up. You only lock when a thread takes a topic to unnecessary abuses of the rules by default.

Ah well, I guess I can understand you locking it, but I just have to say, once again, that its is actually still worth going to see, as there are multiple endings, each with different moods.
