I use paint for most of my pictures, I save them in PNG and they turn out fine.

Though I do have Irfanview anyway, World of Warcraft screenshots used to be saved in a non-supported type.

I noticed the board resizes your high-res pictures automatically. And another nice host is imageshack.us, if it hasn't already been mentioned. I've used it for years without a hitch. The only problem so far is it can't upload small 700kb .png's that are over 160000x160000px in size (for the love of God, don't ask.)

My personal suggestion (hey I'm new to these forums) is just save the original b.net pictures, upload them without any fiddling around with extra programs, and wrap them with [img] tags.
