Map Preview Sassafras (by AceOfSpades & Scobra)

About a month ago, AceOfSpades0707 and I decided that we wanted to Forge together in the Crypt. At first, we had one simple idea: A crypt map supporting 10 to 14 players with a focus on vehicles, more specifically the Banshee and Chopper, and making them work in the crypt. After a few tests and some minor tweaks, I think it's safe to say that we've accomplished the latter. Sassafras (formerly known as Infamous) is possibly the first crypt based, big team map to actually use vehicles in a way where they don't feel completely useless, or completely over-powering.

The map itself features two main bases in each corner of the map which features a Rocket Launcher, Regenerator, and Chopper respectively. In the other two corners are Side Bases (coloured lights signify which teams is which) that holds a Banshee, Sniper Rifle, and a Power Drain in Blue and a Bubble Shield in Red. In the middle of the map, about two vertical standing double blocks high, is a bridge that extends from one side to the map to the other. In the middle of the bridge is a Spartan Laser. Below that bridge is a bridge connecting the two Side Bases together which houses an Overshield in the middle of it. Below that, in the center of the map, is the Gravity Hammer.

The whole map in it's entirety can't be seen, but this is just a teaser after all. More screenshots will be added after further testing has been done.

UPDATE: Three more teaser pictures. Also, I want to clarify that there are two Banshees and two Choppers. Both at 120 Second respawn times.


*note: above the text and to the left of the Banshee's nose is the Blue team Side Base. The Blue Banshee spawns on the upside corner large. Red team's Banshee Spawn in their Side Base is similar to this. Also, hijacking happens a lot.



*note: I want to make it clear that all these screens are from a game with Carbine and Plasma Rifle starts, which is why you see a lot of Carbines. There are only around four or six on the map itself though.


*note: In the above screenshot, you get a good view of Red base and the Red Chopper spawn. Unlike Blue base, which only has a platform of sorts, Red base has a second floor.

When I was doing the Forge through with you on this, it looked quite epic, and I'll be sticking with that opinion.

Any hints on when the map is coming out? If not then oh well. This Map looks really good for big team battle. I love CTF, I guessing by the pics that must have been fun. Well I check every now and again to see updates. Tootalo.

I actually think this map looks amazing. If you need any help with testing it, i'll be glad to when i get my xbox back :)

We don't have any set date, but I think it's safe to say that it'll end up being released early November.
