Forge Hub username: Bloo Jay Xbox LIVE Gamertag: HomerSPC Special permissions/Achievements aquired on Forge Hub: Known by almost if not all of the regulars (as in active people), Got into Steps Towards Map Design Mentality, and just purely epic. Your expected schedule in which you are 100% sure you will be able to be there. If you are not there, you will probably be dropped from the class and/or beta testing: Anywhere from Noon to Midnight on Weekends, and from 4PM-10PM CST on weekdays Class interested in: Map Design 201 How motivated are you to learning?: After being in Steps Towards Map Design Mentality, I've found that it left a incomplete gap in my knowledge. Mostly how to adapt what we've found in Bungie made maps and apply them into our own creations. I find that thing would be the next step up. Give us a quick rundown on what you know in Forge, and what you'd like to learn: I can do every technique I believe, from basic Interlocking, to Ghost Merging, etc. I would like to learn Sight Lines, Spawn Placements (Weapon and Respawns), and just overall Flow for a competitive map. If I am given access, I will not leak codes to allow others in, and all information there will be considered confidential unless specified elsewise (Y/N): Yes. I agree that all decisions made by the staff in this matter are final and I will not protest these (Y/N): Yes.

Which class are you most interested in? Why? Explain IN DETAIL: Insane's "Steps Towards Map Design Mentality". I would really like to be in this class because I have recently been told that I am putting aesthetics before design when I build maps, and I can see where these people are coming from. I would like to be able to build a better playing map with a much better design from the beginning of building a map, instead of focusing on aesthetics.
How motivated are you to learning? Explain IN DETAIL. As I said above, my motivation to forge is to make a well-playing map. Since I have recently been failing to do so, I would really like to be able to make a well-playing map, and I believe that taking this class will be the first step towards doing that.
Give us a quick rundown on what you know in Forge, and what you'd like to improve on or learn. I know every forge "technique" (interlocking, ghost merging, etc.) and basic design principles such as risk vs. reward and LOS. What I would really like to learn is how to design a map so that it plays well and not to focus on aesthetics as much.
Explain what you expect to learn in your class of choice: I hope to learn how to design a map and not to focus on aesthetics as much as I do now.
Optional: Add any information you would like to convince us that you should get in your class of choice: I have been forging for almost a year now and I have made, in my eyes, only two maps that have played very well. I would like to increase that number.
If I am given access, I will not leak codes to allow others in, and all information there will be considered confidential unless specified elsewise YES
I agree that all decisions made by the staff in this matter are final and I will not protest these YES
Forge Hub username: stickmanmeyhem Xbox LIVE Gamertag: stickmanmeyhem Special permissions/Achievements aquired on Forge Hub: Junior Member of the Testers Guild (On leave) Schedule: 5:00-8:00 PM (PST) on weekdays Class interested in: Map Design 201 How motivated are you?: After getting a good start in the first class, I'm looking forward to learning at a more in depth level for the second class. I have a few maps in progress that I don't plan on testing until I learn a bit more on the subjects we're to cover and practice on paper. What you know, and what you want to know: I know most, if not all, forging techniques out there. However, I am not as talented at designing maps. I want to learn how to design a well playing, aesthetically pleasing map. If I am given access, I will not leak codes to allow others in, and all information there will be considered confidential unless specified elsewise (Y/N): No codes shall be leaked. I agree that all decisions made by the staff in this matter are final and I will not protest these (Y/N): Yes.

Your expected schedule in which you are 100% sure you will be able to be there. If you are not there, you will probably be dropped from the class and/or beta testing.:
6pm-8pm on weekdays and 2pm- 12pm on weekends
Which class are you most interested in? Why? Explain IN DETAIL:
I am interested in several classes.
First, I am interested in Taking Steps Toward Map Design Mentality. I would like to optimize my knowledge of map design. I feel that if I learn as much as as I can about every aspect it will bring me further down the road of enlightenment. Map Design Mentality is a shady subject, and I feel that class will help me understand why, simply why. This is essential for a map design. Afterward, I'd like to be enrolled in Map Design 201. This class should optimize my skills. It should bring me to the point where I self-teach myself, the point where I am on my own. At this point, I am ready for map design.
Also, if Mickraider opens The Remakers up, I would like to join that. I have tried on several occasions to remake maps, and I always have fell short or got stuck. This should help me get past my issues with remakes.
How motivated are you to learning? Explain IN DETAIL.
Very would describe it accurately. I have read many guides and sought help from many prestigious forgers from several different places. I have read guides by Debo, AZN FTW, and others. Also, I have read the entire Quake Design guide. Constantly, I attemp to gain more knowledge, and I have a never-ending hunger for more.
Give us a quick rundown on what you know in Forge, and what you'd like to improve on or learn.
I understand most of what can be learned about flow which includes, points of interest (incentives), sight lines, connectivity, entry/exit "rules", the need for "options", and more.
Explain what you expect to learn in your class of choice
I expect to learn whatever I do not know. I expect to learn things I simply cannot grasp thus far.
Optional: Add any information you would like to convince us that you should get in your class of choice
I am an active member that constantly tries better himself as well as the community. One forger enlightened adds to the community's enlightenment. I hope to pass this knowledge on when I can.

Your expected schedule in which you are 100% sure you will be able to be there. If you are not there, you will probably be dropped from the class and/or beta testing.: I can be there any time between 3:00-10:00 central time. I think thats 2-9 eastern. Weekends are hard to plan because I usually have more important stuff going on.
Which class are you most interested in? Why?: I am most interested In Insane's 201 class because I took the first one and would like to continue. I also would love some collaboration on my sketchup.
How motivated are you to learning? Explain IN DETAIL.: I am very motivated to learn, I have read every article here on forgehub, xForgery, and azn theory when it was up. I love reading about forge because I feel I'm learning something I actually care about and will use in the near future.
Give us a quick rundown on what you know in Forge, and what you'd like to improve on or learn.: I know a LOT about forge. I can say I know all the techniques, I know most of the theories, I would just really like to get a more in depth approach on line of sight. Depending on how he teaches is, I may even be able to remind him if he forgets something.

Which class are you most interested in? Why? Explain IN DETAIL: I am interested on Steps Towards Map Design Mentality this class seems of a class of "You know how to forge well, how can you make your maps better/stand out." It seems as it would teach on how to make maps more aestheticly apealing, flow more, and look more natural.I signed up for this so i could learn to forge better as i do forge quite alot and people say i have pretty good forge skill but i can always improve.
How motivated are you to learning? Explain IN DETAIL: i am motivated to learn by the reason that if it will help me forge better, and make better maps, why not try it? I will proceed along with it.
Give us a quick rundown on what you know in Forge, and what you'd like to improve on or learn. I know how to:
Ghost Merge, Teardrop Merge, Push Merge, Spawn Merge. I can make things that use aesthetic peices in a way that it works as part of the map; this means having a control panel using default aesthetics and making it activated after holding RB or doing something such as marking weapons by putting them next to blinking lights or WARNING signs. I know how to co-forge or work with others in order to forge maps.
Explain what you expect to learn in your class of choice: Aesthetic design and making your maps flow better in depth and giving them the feel they should have, such as in the map tunnel rats how things are sticking out of the wall and it is partially hard to manuever; that gives the feel of moving around in a ditch.
Optional: Add any information you would like to convince us that you should get in your class of choice. I HAZ KAPTURE KARD

Surely Forgehub name is obvious.

Nothing achieved on forgehub I dont tend to like to talk here much im more of a quiet one but I make alot of maps and did post one which me and a friend made, but that was a muckabout.
Well if you want 100% definent il have to add 30 mins to the minimum time(pre-done just saying that il prob be available before that)
16:45-22:00 Steps Towards Map Design Mentality
I am interested in this class because it is probably my only forging "Problem" I cant really think of the right word its just the only thing im bad at.
I am extremely motivated because I love the feeling I get when I make a map and get positive feedback and even constructive critism. At school im the guy when theres everyone chatting who sits there doing the work. Also I want to become a better learner and generaly better at anything I can be and one of the main things is Forge.
I know the following:
Merging
Ghost Merging
Geomerging
Switch-Making
Instant Respawn
Cloning(Not really important)
I know a bit on Respawn Points just a bit more than average player
Infinite Budget Glitch
Glitching Out Of Maps
Out of these merging is my least faveourite to do.
I expect to learn how and why map designers put things how they are and possibly a few things about balancing maps, I also expect to learn decent map layouts and things NOT to do.

forgehub user name: ninjazombie gamertag:wa1k1ngcorpse7 time available: 6pm-10pm weekdays, 8am to 11pm weekends class: insane54's Map Design 201 class because i have amazing forge ideas but just don't exactly know how to put them together. motivation: i really want to learn how to bring out the full potential of my maps and not just throw them to together real fast, when i actually do forge i forge with great ideas in mind but they always come out horrible. rundown: i don't know alot in forge, but what i do know is how to interlock objects make objects float, time delay, spawn placement, and weapon placement oh and i recently learned how to ghost merge.what i'd like to learn is how to bring my ideas to life and actually make them playable and look eye catching.

Your expected schedule in which you are 100% sure you will be able to be there. If you are not there, you will probably be dropped from the class and/or beta testing. 4:00-8:30 PM (PST) on weekdays, 10:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on weekends: plus I'm flexible
Which class are you most interested in? Why? Explain IN DETAIL I want to join the class Steps Towards Map Design Mentality because I need to learn the principals that were involved in making sucessful maps to create sucessful ones of my own. And as the thread topic says to mention, I own a Capture Card. A Dazzle Video Creator Plus. People can easily see a positive correlation in the quality of my layouts.
How motivated are you to learning?: Explain IN DETAIL I am interested in map design as a whole. The fact that my other designs weren't perfect makes me crave tutorials and explanations. I have read all the Forging 101's, the Quake map design guide and read guides by Devinish, AZN FTW, squid hands and many more. My determination for becoming a better designer has pushed me toward applying for Forge Academy in hopes of finally understanding the entire map design process.
Give us a quick rundown on what you know in Forge, and what you'd like to improve on or learn. I am familiar with all the building techniques in Forging 101. For the most part I can direct player movement, place weapons, do spawns, and I understand risk vs. reward. To some people that may be a lot, but to others it is only the beginning of being a successful designer. I want to know how to channel my ideas and build them more efficiently. The fact that you'll be backward engineering Bungie's maps sounds inspiring to me because I have grown attached to Halo and wish I could create masterpieces like Damnation and Lockout.
Explain what you expect to learn in your class of choice
In Steps Towards Map Design Mentality, I expect to learn the approach Bungie used to create amazing maps from previous Halo games.
Optional: Upon learning the classes, I will spend time and energy learning a hobby that has inspired me since the launch of Halo 3 and I am not only asking for my own involvement in Forge Academy for my own skills, but I will use them to help fellow members at FH and Atlas. And my knowledge of forge will help feed our community with better maps.
