Nemesis (Tentative Title)

I'm back, and I've got with me new maps coming soon. If any of you have seen a map called Forerunner by me here on Forgehub, you'll know a little more about this.

Project "Nemesis" is a map that I intended to be the version 2 of Forerunner. Turned out to be a very cool spiritual succesor. Nemesis's theme is based on the level, "The Covenant", and it's layout was based on Avalanche, Assembly and the Pit. It has been in production since August. Nemesis is close to finished, having the bases and most of the center complete. What I would like is feedback for the areas to the sides of the center structure, the open areas. I have an idea, but I'd like to get your input before I go any further.

Here's some pictures to get you excited. (No weapons are official yet).

I hope you like it, and give me your feedback on what Ishould do with the empty side areas if you can. All ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

-Dylan

I love the aesthetics so far, they are far better than what we've been seeing lately but I'm already concerned for your map. It looks like too much of your budget went towards Base shapes. I really don't want to see an amazing base, middle, and then random crap about the map to provide cover. I really hope you notice my concerns, and take them into consideration. You got a good thing going right here, dont screw it up. :)

Coming Soon

The only constructive criticism I can give you is a big happy heart.

Jumpman- Thanks for the first kind reply.

Given To Fly- Thanks you for the complement, but I know what you're saying. I'm not making this layout and putting some blocks on the map for cover, they will be a part of the map, a part with meaning, and not just randomness, and the map will have flow to it, not just random cover strewn around the outer area. I completely agree and don't intend to do that. but thanks for the critisizm, I appreciate it.

meltyourtv- Thanks for the big happy heart... I think.

I wun pleah! It looks really good.

Keep up the good work. I would add a few more structures on the edges on the map because there are a few barren areas which wouldnt end well.

It states in the thread that you can say any idea you have on what to put into the side areas. Remeber, this isn't the final project, still need some more forging and testing and revising, so any suggestions are helpful.

Let me tell you the bases look great like the center. For the blank areas of the map, put some columns close together in clumps and put a power weapon inside. It certainly creates an interesting place to fight. It's also good for cover.

Will you be adding vehicles to the map? Depending on what you do with the side areas warthogs should be great on this map. Also if you use Flameblads idea for collumns, it would be cool if one side of the map had a bit of a destroyed look. You could ghost merge collumns into the ground at slight angles and some that are on their side. It would bring a bit more variety into the map and help you know which side you're on. The map looks great, keep it up.

While I don't condone your idea, I don't approve of it very much, just because adding random cover strewn about the map isn't very sound in creating a flowing and diverse battleground. I have a idea possibly of a garrison tower or something more complex, but anyways thanks for the input.
