New Forge Glitch
This No-Clip glitch works for all objects, has been streamlined to perfection, and it amazing for cleaning up those hard to reach areas. Credit is shared between me (jex yoyo) for finding it, Fritzer for advancing it, and tylyr1 for perfecting it (also, diger44 added quite a few helpful tips.) I underlined tylyr1 because he made this successful for spawned objects. One final note; Please take the time to read the tips section before you post any questions, and if nothing in there helps, any questions should be in this thread. I read every post in it (mostly because I feel responsible for upkeep) and make sure that I reply to any questions that pertain to the glitch. Making another thread is simply a waste of time, and not very intellegent because its much more likely to fall off the first page than something thats been stickied. Also, the final thing is that ABSOLUTELY ZERO MLG maps came out before this was discovered, and none of them use this. They still get all the credit for doing unbeleavable things that people shouldn't have been able to do on forge.
This morning something monumental happened; I accidently discovered a glitch that will completely revolutionize the way we use OLN objects. It basically makes them easier to use then normal spawned objects. What it involves is duplicating the object first. One object floats around, ignores any barriers, and eventually disapears. The other, an object that you will still be holding, turns into a completely no-clip object. You can put it inside an object you have already placed, or you can float it in any position you like, twisting it to suit your needs. It will stay exactly like that. But, the best part is how it becomes the easiest geomerge ever. You can take the time to line it up, because of the no clip. If you not happy, just move it a little bit. Its amazing.
This works on all dlc maps, and can be used with any immovable OLN objects. Furthermore, tylyr1 may have discovered a way to make this work on all objects, even those that you spawn. The first video shows you how to do it with any normal object, and the second tells you how to do it with OLN objects. Its different, and who knows, you may need an OLN.

I dunno if this has already been mentioned, but kay.

This next thing was created by me, but here is a superguide that diger44 made. And he seemed like he really wanted to get this tip up on the front page...

What is Counter-Merging?
-- Counter Merging is a relatively new Ghost Merging or No-Clipping method that involves placing an object more then half way into other objects\geometry past it's "invisible box"; which was previously impossible before this glitch.
What is the end result of Counter-Merging?
-- It makes any object appear to be sunken or pushed under the map farther than it's midway point such as a double block being only a few "inches" above the ground. This can be compared to geo-merging; an object this far in requires roughly 20 times more effort and time. Note that any merge that does not require itself to be more than half way through the ground should be merged standard-ly through ghost merging.
How do you Counter-Merge?
-- Follow these 14 steps:
- Place a double block away from your forging area in the crypt or the standard level (on the same level of your map of course!) set the respawn at start to NO.
- Place two of your objects near each other, primarily next to your double box so you can find it easily.
- Set one of the objects to a respawn rate of NEVER and leave all other setting the same with the other object.
- Restart the round and go to your objects.
- Now, racing against the clock, press "D-pad Up" and "A" very fast, press the D-pad very slightly quicker than A. THE OBJECTS SHOULD NOT MOVE\JITTER.
- Spawn any other object and push it into your objects. They should move; if they don't, repeat step 5.
- Stand on the Eye-drop (the little white thing where your double block was)
- Wait for it to spawn (in Sandbox, two yellow squares to your right and left should appear, in Foundry, random vertical lines should appear) and jump when it does.
- You will be forced under the map, so immediately go monitor. Note that the "Mirror Effect" will occur in a single player game and in split screen, the other player's screen will appear where there is no map geometry.
- Go to the eye drop where your objects were and grab the one that is not set to never. The object should reappear there. DON'T LET GO!
- Wait for your "NEVER" respawn object to disappear then push the object far away from you and rotate it violently; it should be pushed under the map. If it doesn't, simply try again or if it does not even minorly glitch, then you'll have to make another double box and set its respawn time latter in the round and hold your object there, then it should be pushed underneath the map.
- Force spawn your object by pressing X twice and setting the run-time minimum to whatever the maximum number is. Your almost done.
- Here is where you should sign on you other controller or get a friend to help. At some angles the game does not render the map and it disappears, so another above ground character should be present. It is a good idea to be on the same team so the above ground player can tell where you are. Push the box directly up in order to see it from up top. You can however change the depth at which it sticks out though. Rotate and place your object where you want it by lining it up from your other player.
- Once you've placed it, turn human and you should "pop" out above ground to see your amazing merge.
Do you have any other tips\tricks?
-- This is an updated way of doing Counter-Merging, the original way required you to dummy the object from underground which can be extremely hard to do on maps like Foundry because the death barrier is so close. However the downside is that you have to do it before the double box spawns and before your objects disappear. You can increase the respawn time on the double box if you are having trouble dummying the objects.
-- Also, to people who know Ghost Merging already, the Up-X method CANNOT be used because the tear drop is floating in the air and is un-grabbable.
-- Pre-Bracing cannot be used either because you have to "wiggle" the box through the ground to get it underneath the map (unless you are COMPLETELY INSANE and build a pre-bracing system underground, then theroreticly...)
-- Post-Bracing can also be used underground but it is not nessecary unless you require 100% absolute OMGWTFBBQ-IWHBYD-ORLY-YARLY-LMAO-GTFO quality.

The next has a video explaining my idea. Oh No!!! It wont let me embed!!! I wish I knew how to fix this. Its probably caused by being in the spoiler, but I dont see the problem. I already have two videos working...

Having trouble with objects randomly dissapearing? We found help for that too...

The game will think that you picked it up, therefore any "bad" effects from the glitch would go away.
(jex's note) I personally have tested this, the double tap method works.
Good find.

This tip really helps with accuracy. Remember, just because this is fast doesnt mean you should rush. You can still tell the difference between maps that took a while and those that were made in a day. However, this bracing method only works with non-OLN objects. OLN objects will automatically reset their vector and orientation.

And for everyone being skeptical about how this is going to be really hard to be accurate with, no it's not. Make a pre-brace, once you're glitched, you're in the correct shape and all you need to do is place is in the right spot.
I.E.
1) place two double box's
2) setting never respawn on one of them
3) Dummy both of tbem
4) Grab the "spawn at beggining" box,
5) Take over to pre-brace, manipulate non-glitched piece to be in the shape and angle you need it to be in.
6) Wait, once the "Never" box dissapears and you have your no-clip'd version, it is in the EXACT shape you were holding the old one.
7) Simply move the piece where it needs to go to. ( Without touching the right-trigger ever. (except to bring it closer or further away from you)
This is where your second controller comes in handy. (I don't actually have another person for this, I am just controlling two characters in game)
8) with the eyes of your other screen, make sure you have the piece exactly where you want it to be. Note you can walk on the no-clip object without anyworry that it will be "slightly moved". Trust me, following this method insures accuracy and is 1000% times faster than attemping accuracy with old forge methods.
(Note that the glitched block when walking on it as the second player, it will bump you around regardless, that is just some conflict with the glitched block and it supporting something, once you have it placed it won't be bumpy.)
(A couple of other things to note, don't try to stack items on the glitched block, it may seem solid as you are pushing pieces against it, but once you let go it'll slowly fall through it. Also if the person holding the glitched block tries to get the other player onto the block, they will fall through as if it isn't there. The second player must initiate walking onto the block for it to be "real")
(jex's note) I am sorry about the size of the picture below. For some strange reason it wont let me resize it.
This is just one of the pre-braces I've used on this creation so far, and to use it, once I dummed both blocks, I would grab the 30 second respawn one, shove it against both surfaces neatly and wait, getting a glitched block in that exact angle, ready to be placed.

How to dummy an object; Thank you for posting this, because i really didnt think that it would be a problem. Once again, I assume and skrew myself over.

Now, tap A to pick it up and go into human mode VERY FAST. I still have trouble with this, so don't feel discouraged if you can't get it at first. The time between tapping A and going into human is incredible small, so practice this a lot. Once you have done that, simply push the object(s) out of the way with another immovable. If they don't move, you need to dummy again.

An alternative way to dummy an object, one that allows you to preform the glitch with spawned objects slightly faster.

Basically, you want to go in your Forge Monitor, and Press Up on the D-Pad, and then quickly press X. You want to press them at about the same time, but delay the X a little bit. If done correctly, you will have your list up but you will be in Player Mode. Once you have this, spawn the object you want, and it is dummied just like that, no moving of the object required. (You still have to change the Respawn Time to 'Never' on the first object" Then, dummy another object using the same method, and after it has Spawned, pick it up and wait for the other object to spawn. While still holding on to the object, set the Run-Time Minium to the Maxium, and wah-lah.
That's the way I do it, and maybe it's eaisier for some of you guys.

Need it just barely in the ground, but still want to get the most out of it? Well, thank diger44 again.

If your trying to make a perfect line of no-cliped boxes that aren't exactly one-half above the ground, this should work. Taking advantage of the glitch with the glitch in which (lol rymez) the object only goes halfway into the ground, you can "move" the ground up-down or at a slant with objects. Example: No-clip a pre-brace object. But two large stone columns down next to each other, then you will be able to exactly get a perfect height for a merge, same goes for any other combination of objects. Just repeat the same number of objects for each merge and they'll all be perfect!
EDIT: I tested both of my theories and they both work. The Colum undernath a double block creates a perfect 1-bridge height merge into the ground, perfect for protecting stray grenades...
Here's a pic of it: (left: no-cliped object placed on a column, right: standard block)

I'm rendering it for you in SD because I can't get on the box till tomorrow morning, and this might help every one else that wants to see it. This shit better be real though.
I came. Does it still stay there when you save/quit. This is how forge should have been.
Umm... not working? The code is [bungievid] [/ bungievid], right?
Is the vid on FH working for anyone else? It says system:exception: 3001 for me.
EDIT (Shock): Has to be in your fileshare.

You have my attention... as well I move that this tread become Sticked it will become popular soon.
As far as i can Tell it is messing with the OLN. If you cause one of the objects to lag and disappear ... as you pick it up possibly that object will some how reappear with loose barriers...
I'm guessing here Death Yo Yo ..did you
1. Set OLN object not to spawn, as well have enough of that object for it to have the odd effect of the OLN to dispawn
2.Reset round
3.Ither forcespawn or mess with the object as it is force spawn causing it to disappear.
4. After Object Disappear... you went threw a teleporter to another OLN? Or a prexisting similar object which caused the OLN object to return with the new Glitch property?
IF you can Save that Entire File and post it... I'm willing to help you fine tune what you did. Gt G043R
