Hello Forgers,

I'm here to announce the opening of a new contest know as the Minigame Forge-off. In this contest, not only your forging prowess will be challenged, but your ability to make an addicting and fun minigame.

So what EXACTLY does this competition entail?

Minigame Forge-off is a competition in which you enter your minigames to be judged and graded. The top 3 grades get first, second, and third. The contest will be held once a month, starting hopefully on the first and ending on the last day of the month (February would only have 28 days to build). Then the week after they close (the 1st-7th of the next month) the judges will test and grade the maps. The scores of all the judges will be averaged with the highest and lowest scores not included in the averaging. This will be compared to other's grades to decide who wins Minigame Forge-off for the month. This competition will end 31st of August.

What are the requirements to enter said competition?

The requirements to enter the Minigame Forge-off Competition are as follows:
-The map must be yours and must not be a rip-off of someone else’s map
-Must have at least one picture from the game (if you post only one it must be an overview shot)
-The minigame can NOT be a puzzle map.
-Can NOT be a modded map.
-MUST post on entry thread and not discussion thread.

What do I post my entry form like?

I entered but my map it isn't on the list? Why?

Disqualification will occur when:

-You haven’t met the above requirements.
-You are caught trying to bribe a judge.
-You spam the entry form (‘reserved’, ‘Oooo! I wanna enter’, etc.)
-Multiple entries (you can replace the map that you previously entered, but only one map can be entered for the final judging)
-Being banned (obviously).

What do I get if I win this contest?

As of now the only reward for this contest is a signature, but if the contest becomes popular then rich rewards could soon be handed out.

Description of map: This is a mini game where if you are a zombie, you want to comit suicide. if you comit suicide then you earn 1 point. The zombies have 200% speed and gravity, so they are not able to jump out of the map. The last man has 75% speed. They have magnums and arent able to kill the human (there is always only 1 human) because he is invincible. But they can assassinate him(which i wish i could get rid of) and try and get him to fall off. if he falls off then i made him respawn with no shields or damage resistence, so the zombies can then shoot him in one shot and the round is over. The human has a sword, And if you kill the human then you get 2 points. There are 10 rounds and each round is 1 minute long.

Description of map:

The VIP team (defenders) must taxi their VIP to the destinations on their mongeese while avoiding the snipers. Only the driver of the VIP can be killed; everyone else is invulnerable. This is made possible by the VIP Proximity Traits, which affect any drivers within 10 meters of the VIP. The VIP is invisible so that the snipers cannot easily know which mongoose is carrying the VIP. Because of this, the other drivers on the VIP team must act as a diversion to confuse the snipers and must pick up their VIP when his driver is killed.
There are four bubble shields spread throughout the map for the VIP team to create cover to assist in their recovery of the VIP. The bubble shields have a 30 second respawn time and are inside of the custom powerups, which have another powerup above them so that they are easier to find.

The non-VIP team (attackers) is trapped inside a double box, they cannot escape from it, but they can shoot through it. They must snipe the driver of the VIP (2 body shots or 1 head shot) and anyone attempting to pick up the VIP once they enter his influential radius in order to slow down the VIP team and keep them from scoring points. (NOTE: VIP Destinations are the only way to score points. Each team has 2 rounds as the VIP team.)
They also have at their disposal two missile pods. The first spawns at the beginning or each round and the second spawns halfway through, at 1:30.

Description of Map: The alpha zombie, fast invincible(unless pushed into black hole, must try to push the humans into the hole to gain points. The infected are slow and with high health. For the humans to gain points they must kill the infected by splattering or pushing them into the black hole. For zombies to gain points they must work as a team and corner the humans picking them off 1 by 1. With a good party size of about 6-9 this can be a fast fun and addictive game to play.

Gametype: Save WALL-E V2



One team is supposed to blow up WALL-E while the other team tries to kill them. It´s based on one bomb, everyone starts with sniper. There is rockets, lasers, turrets and a missile pod on the map.

Must the map be made in the month of the contest, because I have been working on a mini game map and I haven't finished it yet, could that map be credible for submission?
Also, when you submit a minigame to this contest, can you afterwards post the map in the mini games forum?

Anyways, I like the the contest, and I am looking forward to seeing the creative results.

@Kayla, This is for new original minigames YOU make. Not anyone else. As mentioned in the requirements.

@apesap0, You can enter any of your maps you have made as long as it is by August 31st.

Hmmmmmm it's hard to come up with new mini-games, especially with all the fun and addictive one's already out there. I like competitions like this though, where it actually stretches peoples imaginations to come up with something new and addictive.

Are we allowed to take an initial idea but change something that will show it is our map, you know have a better version or an added unique aspect in it or something.

If not, I think I have quite a fun idea up my sleeve :)

@Crippled Hobo, You have to change something VERY significant about the minigame. an example...hmm... Blast off!. What you could do is take the idea as a STARTING POINT. Such as, I could branch off from that and say that there is a very small hill on the floor, the other team throws grav lifts trying to get people out of the hill.

About the bribing... you never know what people on Forgehub will do... tsk tsk tsk...
