Default Stealths guide to forging (incomplete) Arches

Ok, you know all those maps that you see that have epic arches that make the map way more aesthetically pleasing. Well im here to teach you how to make a map with archs.

Step one:

Load up your canvas map., and set up a double box vertical where you want your arch to be placed. Me personally i geomerge the box first so nades dont go under. I suggest doing the save and quit method for a clean geomerge.

Delete the objects bracing the box if you decided to geomerge the box.

Step two:

Place a double box or single box at the angle you want on the box you had previously placed like so.

Save and quit.

Step three:

Load the map back up. On the box you first placed press x and set spawn at start no and respawn time 180.

No pictures for that part.

Step four:

Start a new round and spawn a box the same type as the one that is floating at an angle. Now place the box you just spawned right on the other box on the side where the unspawned box is. Once you get it lined up perfectly with the floating box save and quit.

Load up the map and delete the guide box. Next spawn the other double box you placed in step one and set spawn at start yes.

And there you have it, you now have a cleanly made arch.

If you want the arch to be bigger or have more curves just repeat steps
two-four.

Happy forging,
Stealth.

Edit: thanks linubidux for calling my arch incomplete now i had to go and change the name :(

I thought it was helpful.
Not a forge newbie, just never decided to learn to make arches. Now, I can.

Not a bad guide. Although, it is a bit lazy. If you want perfection you essentially need to set up braces and guides for nearly everything.

Personally I try not to get my structural design from other people's map, I like to come up with stuff myself.

At linubidux

i did brace the hell out of it i just figured that i would make a quick guide without braces to doing it. bracing it is for people who want a more advanced and cleaner arch.
