Am I ruined?
That's the question.
I am creative (Meaning I never run out of ideas for maps, not before anyway) and somewhat of perfectionist. I have many great ideas for maps some impossible and most possible. Every wall, box, inmovable object I make, I ALWAYS make sure it's the default perpendicular/parallel, if it needs be. I NEVER settle for a slight deviation and if it's on foundry, I try my best to align it with the dots/cubes pattern on the ground.
Now comes the snag. I'm not sure what's causing it, but I can't "really" forge anymore, unless you count maps that are messy. For one, my objects MOVE each time I end game and start again. Usually this means 2 perfectly interlocked double boxes end up not so perfectly interlocked. (Eg. Messy interlocking that you see in noob maps)
To make this worse, every 10 times or around there that I "Start a new round", the game automatically saves and ends. Now, many of you might think this is good, however, this only means my objects will once again be displaced and I will have to re-place them, which will again be displaced when I start another game, whether forge or custom games.
In addition to that, somewhat unrelated, 1/3 of the first times I start a game in forge, I can't save changes, which means I need to "Save as a new map", which leads to clutter. Not really that bad, just a little irritating at times.
Now, all this is destroying my forge experience. I can't forge anymore maps other than those with no interlocking and are floating, since there's nothing to align them to, hence there's no way to know if it's aligned or not.
What I suspect is that this has somewhat to do with the scratches on my Halo 3 disc, courtesy of my previous, now replaced, RROD Xbox 360. What I do know, is that on the previous Xbox 360, everything was fine. Fine until one day when I started making the biggest map idea in my life. Nothing different happened on that day except the fact the things started getting displaced every game. After that, things only went downhill, as shown above.
I have'nt touched forge for a long time and just started yesterday when I decided to give forge another chance, but that's when I discovered all the other problems.
I'm posting here to know if anyone else is experiencing this, if there is a way to remedy this other than buy a new disc, if there is anything I can do to find the root of the problem, and your thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the wall of text, I really want to forge again. I will really appreciate it if this problem can be fixed and I can get back to doing something I really love.
Edit: With the NXE, should I install a friend's halo 3 disc then use my own to run the game for forge? Would that fix the problem? Or is there a way to remove the scratches?
You probably don't know me...

when u first load up halo, if the map your forging on is already there, u have to save as new for some reason. like if u start halo, and the map is Canvas, then u forge on it without changing it, then u HAVE to save as new.
"To make this worse, every 10 times or around there that I "Start a new round", the game automatically saves and ends."
You may be exaggerating, so what i think is that your reaching 36 or so rounds in forge. On your 36th or so round in forge occurs, the game automatically ends the session. i dont know about the auto save part, but thats what i think.

No, you're fucked.
If your disc is scratched, there is no other option then buying another copy of Halo 3.

Try forging on Local rather than just invite only. That should solve things moving when you save and end.
Should also fix the game ending when you start a new round, but still best to save often.
As or only being able to save as new map, only solution I've found to that is to check it as soon as you get into it before doing anything and re-starting until you can save changes.

For your first comment, what do you mean by "forge on it without changing it"?
As for the second, I'm not exaggerating, it really does end the session every 10 or so "Start new round". And it DOES auto save for me when it ends. Like just now, I put a wall, realised it was slanted but the object I was going to interlock it with spawned, so I started a new round. The game ended and when I started the wall was where I left it, and the last time I saved was at least 15 mins ago when I was forging at another part of the map.

If you actually read to the end, I know I'm fucked, I'm just asking if there's any way to really check if it's a problem with the disc, because my friend has a scratched disc too, even worse than mine, but his forge works fine.

Well, for one, I only forge in local, and secondly, when the game auto-ends, it also saves for me, so there's not real need to save often. Thanks for the suggestions though.

The same thing happened to me, back before AU2 went up. It seems as though Bungie recognized and corrected the glitch. Or maybe I just haven't experienced it since, due to luck. If so, I can't help you...

Well, it happened to me before AU2 and is still happening to me after AU2.
Do I really need a real disc or is the problem caused by anything else?

If somebody is in your party than it might be your prob.
Alwase forge alone or atleast check to see who is host.
Just look down and go into monitor mode. If your still looking down than your host. If not you are host.
When you lose intrest in forge after doing it to long, and you don't feel like going outside, play a game of snipers or something. I usaully play a game of campain.
