I have used other peoples maps to create new ones, but I always acknowledge them if I think that the map is too similar to be my own. Of course I never remember their name, so I call them: "person, who's name I can't remember"

it should be good practice to not claim something as your own though. If someone else made it and you modded it, at least give the creator the props for the idea. I guess it just comes down to people's moral standing.

oooh,Im having one of those headaches with pictures.

What if,as a way to prove that the map is yours,spawn something that you havent used in your level like a street cone,and place it outside of the level?That way if you think someone stole your map you can say "How many street cones are on the map?".Since the person your asking wouldnt have seen the object they would say none and you can tell someone who DLed the map to get out of the level and check.If theres a street cone outside then everone will know that person stole your map.

that is what I do I have "key" items hidden in all my maps, nobody knows what the items are or where they are but me.
