So no vehicles, what about...

So, I was checking out the MLG settings and realized there was no vehicle use. So why can we not use them for cover or aesethics?

Imagine your a ball carrier. Several members of the other team begin BRing you. You duck behind a Warthog laying on its side. As the enemies close in, you drop the ball and flip the 'hog into them, taking down their shields. You quickly distaptch them with several BR bursts, snag the ball, and keep moving.

Moveable cover of any kind is avoided in MLG, the only real instances being ones where A) it's unavoidable such as on Pre-DLC maps (though exactly why they never weapon holder those boxes on The Pit down is beyond me) or B) it's not an practical issue, like with the dumpsters on Onslaught which are technically moveable, but only if you're in a vehicle so it doesn't matter in game.

Not only would vehicle cover be highly moveable and unreliable (the reason behind avoiding moveable cover is areas being to changeable since each point of cover is supposed to be integral, it should be consistent), but they are also destroyable which would only add to the chaos caused by their inclusion, even if they were undriveable.

Ah, I see now.

But what if there were indestructable vehicles enabled and something like, say, a wraith was used as part of a base?

Are you able to flip vehicles without being able to drive them?

Most definitely, I've played a few maps with no vehicles and did flips and shit. As for vehicle cover, it would be pretty cool but not really practical.

Flipping the vehicle and it just moving in general is why they aren't used. Mlg relies on a maps consistency that way it is always the same and the only thing changing is where the action is.

In fact, that's why I avoid movable objects too.

Everything that people said above and the fact that the Vehicle set on MLG turns them off, so they wont even appear.

Because when a nade sets them to respawn, they are barley moved, so when they respawn, and the boxes are still there, its a party in pit's geometry.

I'm thinking about looking at Tanks in MLG, I know BRing over a Scorpion would be interesting.

I'll play around in customs to see what is limitations with this.

Mace remember that often people are going to say nay to an idea till you implement it well. With the MLG community it is always residing on the fact that it has to be fair as well consistent. I imagine that indistructible tanks as being fair but we shall take a forge see's.

I'll be back....
