MLG's main focus is to promote plenty of action. The gametype makes is so that every second of a match is interesting to watch, because even if you're not in a fight, strategies and plans are thought up to set up a fight, no matter if it's Slayer or Flag. Having to stop to capture a territory slows down gameplay, which is contradictory to MLG's goal.

That's what I think is the most important reason.

It promotes camping to a degree. Once you capture a territory, you don't really want to leave it.

of course you camp in conquest. You can't tell me you have never taken the middle territory and just sat there before. It happens all the time.

Yeah, you could make it a quicker capture time. That would help

Flags are in bases which is where you spawn so that is an exception. Although, I don't really see any MLG top teams camping their base anyway.

If you want to win in high level MLG, you can't camp the flag. Watch these videos; it's not flag, but you get the idea...

I don't see any problems with an MLG territories variant. I'm sure the gametype and compatible maps could be tweaked precisely enough to prevent camping and to promote strategy.

Why is there no MLG VIP or Bomb?

There just isn't.
