MLG Anaheim Discussion

As many followers of MLG know, MLG Anaheim is coming up November 6th - 8th and brackets/team rosters are out! Another exciting event and the last of '09 if I am remembering correctly.

I'm looking at Relapse bringing the heat to Final Boss because I've played with Fearris a couple times before and he's quite the player.

Instinct was playing strong in Dallas, but I'm sure they can take Top 2. I'm an Instinct fan, so I guess I'm slightly biased. :P

My top 4:
1. Instinct
2. Triggers Down
3. Str8 Rippin
4. Final Boss (hopefully Dynasty or BtH)

It's gonna come down to tD and Str8, no matter how you slice it.

And, I'd see Str8 taking it. I mean, cmon, Snipedown can walk on Jesus.

It depends on how Str8's playing. They weren't too hot in Dallas. Elamite went -10 in Amp and (Narrows I believe). Hopefully Elamite will get back together though. Str8's one of my favorite teams to watch.

True, Elamite was way off. I'd say all bets are off if we find out Elamite hasn't been practicing in between then and now. If not, tD might just have 09.

Also, interesting thing pops up. Str8 and Carbon facing off in WB Round 2. I'm leaning towards Str8 in this one. Hopefully Elamite's back and ready to take Anaheim. Carbon was showing off some skill at Dallas, but I think Str8 can come back and dominate.

Elamite seems to be Str8's Mackeo. He's indisputably great, and every pro on the circuit will sing his praises in an interview, but if somebody is going to go negative, it is going to be him. Then again, the same happens to Lunchbox, and I never hear anything about Lunchbox except how great an objective player he is, so chalk it up to how fickle the MLG forums are I guess.

Anyway, for my predictions I'm just gonna quote what I said in the bracket show discussion thread(Sundance has hair!).

The entire result really does depend on whether Str8 can beat Carbon. If they do, I don't see tD beating them, and they'll probably go to win it. If they don't, I'm thinking they won't even find their way into the championship match, losing to whichever team loses the Carbon vs. tD matchup in the winner's finals. Really I pretty much agree with these guys on everything they said, but I think Carbon is better than they're giving credit for.

Really, my predictions are mostly speculation, vague feelings about certain players, and hype rather than solid rationale, but there is one thing I am comfortable predicting 100%. Final Boss will take 6th.

^Slightly biased. I don't like tD at all (no offense to all you tD fans).^

I look forward to seeing Final Boss step up their game since they have not really been doing well in the past events.

i was not impressed with str8's performance at dallas; however, carbon made an amazing apperance with their new team.

I'm starting to really like Carbon. People are starting to get tired of Walshy but I love how he joined Carbon right after getting dropped by SR.
Their fighting spirit is awesome because they always manage to get huge wins over teams like when they smashed Str8 Rippin. I think it's their tournament this time round though.

I'm pretty sure the majority want to see STR8 bounce back in this event.
It makes me uneasy with them, due to the flip-floping in events.
I'm a STR8 fan, and obviously I'm going to be waiting fo the match against Carbon.
This match will pretty much determine the mood of the tournament for STR8.


On another note, I'm hoping to see more events next year.
