The Pegasi MLG Rundown

Not to be confused with the MLG Map Directory, this is a sister thread designed to help filter the wheat from the chaff. Whilst this could have been an appendix to the MLG Map Directory, the whole point of this thread is to avoid clutter and make finding appropriate MLG maps easier so I decided to create a new thread

After the MLG Map Directory received so many comments regarding which maps really deserve to be classified, I decided to create this thread in an attempt to provide a more useful compendium for those in search of "true MLG maps".
The criteria for inclusion are simple:
- Weapon placement must be up to MLG standard as defined in the MLG Weapon Guide by JAYclash. I do not declare this to be the be-all-and-end-all on the subject of what defines an MLG weapon placement, but think it is a useful standard to use for this thread's purposes. However, in the interests of diversity I am being lenient on the use of the custom overshield. I will not be lenient with small weapon additions outside of this criteria though, as an important part of any MLG map is that there are no pointless weapons.
- A weapon list must be included in the OP, obviously conforming to the weapon requirements outlined above. This is to make referencing easier, it would take too long for me too download every map and check the weapons, so if you wana be in the thread that bad and believe that your maps conforms to the other requirements then please add a weapon list to your post and point me towards it

Whilst it is not a reuquirement, you may want to take a look at JAYclash's MLG geometry guide as well. Its a nice summary of the different types of MLG maps that you can build, with a decent rundown on which objects should be used and which should not.

If anyone has any additional criteria to suggest then please offer them up here or via PM, please include good reasoning though if you want your suggestion to be taken seriously.

This thread is placed in off topic to avoid moderation issues and so people can be more relaxed about posting rules here. However, please only post here if you:
a. Would like your map placed in this thread (or PM me, please include a link either way)
b. Would like your map removed from this thread
c. Have any suggestions for further directory threads.
d. Have any suggestions/comments on this thread.
ie. Please do not comment on maps here, but feel free to comment on the thread itself.

Again, if you feel your map deserves to be on this list and isn't, check through the criteria (lack of weapon list is the most common reason for exclusion, it may seem harsh but this thread must remain as tight and coherent as possible), make any corrections to map/post then let me know with a link to the updated thread.

Any suggestions for improvements on the thread or additions/changes to the criteria are welcome, just try and be detailed in your explanations. If I ever get around to asking MLG for a definitive set of criteria this thread will be updated accordingly, but until then it will be based on consensus view (within reason)

also, i think you should put some maps that arent on this site in here. amp and onslaught of course, and hybrid. hybrid is a map used in the canadian version of MLG the PGL. just to let people know what they should be making

Lol Furious, and yes, your assumptions are correct. I love a good agricultural analogy every now and again, makes me feel like I'm getting back to my roots (despite the fact that I have never lived anywhere but London :P)

Oh, and with regard to the suggestion about posting non FH maps here - These two threads are designed to alleviate calls for a subforum, they are meant to benefit FH more than anything, so non FH maps are not really an issue here (the B.net forums can take care of themselves as far as I'm concerned, I reckon that they're beyond saving for the most part)
Also, since the maps don't have an FH thread then I would have nowhere to link to. Linking to the B.net post would mean there was only one picture (another reason why B.net sucks)

The suggestion does have its merits though, and I shall consider adding a section detailing the official MLG maps, maybe with links, just so people can see what the standard really is.

yeah i was thinking thats what youd say. its pretty much a must that you post the actual maps used by MLG on this page
