I just had another good idea. I was looking around the map sections and came upon a post with an interesting descriptions. The pictures of the map were edited so that they were inside a journal and the reader was looking at difffent pages with writing on it. I found this to be a very clever way to display information and was inspired by it. I have created a similar type of thing with computer files in the background and video feed/pictures of things in our story and game.

In the story we talk about the scientific complexes. Here I have shown shots of the factory and the science lab. The two videos at the top right can be recordings from surveillance cameras looking at the vats of chemicals and NovaChron.

Here is a screen with shots of the Chrysiogene Arsenatis Nova Bacterium

    Here is the Chron virus

And this shows the virus and bacteria are combined

Later on it is enhanced and designed to hold pheromones inside.

This is my first try at showing one of our maps in this fashion. I edited the shots to make them seen more realistic and you get to see part of the map while still getting the impression that these are actual videos/pics.

Don't worrk about getting it done so quickly. I have exams next week and am only working on the story in between study sessions to relax in a way. I enjoy writing the stories and can help you out.

I was wondering if we should start spreading our reach a bit and looking to the release. What I mean is maybe gearing up to inform someone in the staff about our intentions. We can give them some info and then ask for a special area to post everything. I can't see posting our campaign in all the different forums for the maps, the videos, and the descriptions as being a great idea.

-Who would we want to send a message to?

That could work and maybe you shoudl talk to Chon. So far we have a pretty detailed background story but not much on what happens during the campaign. We have a general idea but different versions could be adapted to the maps.

Im not so sure about having a special squad coming in to kill their own guys though and it might be a bit odd. Although we sort of have that at one point with delta squad I think. On the last level the alpha zombies are basically humans but I don't know for sure who they are exactly

I think that in the final mission there should be a 'Special Squad' sent by the UNSC to finish what they started, they should be a separate team who have to simply kill everything associated with the out break and destroy the evidence to cover up the series of events which they set in motion in order to quell panic and further rebellion.
However the surviving members of all the various squads wont take this lying down so they will put everything in to their own survival in attempt to make sure that they are remembered as heroes.

    Cyclo Nova Chron

In 3314 the (ds_RNA) Reoviridae Chronastrea Virus spread throughout the Inner Colonies, causing paralysis and death during the earlier months when little was known. Its source was identified as the planet Eris-V which had then carried it through infected workers on ships. The Chron Virus caused a severe rise in body temperature, headaches, nausea, and a certain strain induced massive releases of adrenaline. These amounts varied in intensity and caused muscle spasms. Tissue would be torn and bruises would form in certain areas. Shortness of breath was brought on by overactive muscles, often causing the infected to pass out. These uncontrollable seizures could damage muscles to the point where they needed to receive transplants.

By the year 3315 a vaccine had been found and many scientist groups studied the virus closely. The UNSC was intrigued by its ability to release adrenaline and a research center was put in place on the planet from which it was suspected to have originated. Through engineering they were able to reduce the major symptoms and isolated the portion which was able to evoke releases of adrenaline. Viruses however can not grow or reproduce outside of host cells, and so it was decided that they needed a safe carrier for their new virus. Multiple tests and numerous experiments showed that the Chrysiogene Arsenatis Nova bacterium would be a perfect host.

The Nova Bacterium was considered safe and its reproduction could easily be controlled by the administration of certain chemicals. It was found in the blood stream of several animals and worked with the immune system to combat pathogens. The bacterium would display a complex arrangement of cells and extracellular components, forming secondary structures such as microcolonies if allowed to grow in certain conditions. When placed in small sample of blood, the bacterium quickly formed colonies and within a few hours had systematically purified it of all pathogenic bacteria. The UNSC scientists were able to alter the arrangement of the secondary structures and add proteins which would turn the colony into a substance similar to biofoam. When applied to a wound the bacterium would enter the infected area and, given stimulation, would start to reproduce. Due to accelerations in the growth cycle, colonies were able to form within minutes and the wound would be sealed.

In order to remove the colonies, altered Chron viruses were imbedded within the cells. After a short incubation time, the Viruses would burst from the cells and spread to others in the colony. Inside other infected cells they would continue to multiply until they ripped through. The speed at which the colonies were destroyed was exponential and within an hour they were completely gone. During the replication cycle, Chron viruses would also cause bursts of adrenaline.

The fusion of the virus with the bacterium became known as NovaChron. It was very useful for tending wounds as one injection would act as a sealant, while disinfecting the area giving the patient a substantial dose of adrenaline. The project was in the midst of testing when Eris-V was attacked. Facilities and scientific labs were evacuated and reserves of the serum were quickly locked away. As the world fell to the UCCL forces, the military complex was closely inspected. Hoping to find weapons, technology and precious data they began excavations of the destroyed buildings. Workers stumbled upon the remains of the destroyed research division's warehouse. Within the vaults, reserves of NovaChron were found along with information from the research centers. Rebel scientists seized all the materials and began perfecting the design. The UCCL enthusiastically backed the project, hoping that it would give them an edge over the USTC.

In order to increase it's potential, the scientists added a ring arrangement within which a pheromone was stored. The altered structure gave it the name CycloNovaChron. The hormones would bind with receptor proteins, resulting in the activation of a single transduction mechanism that ultimately led to cell type-specific responses. Different variations were used to elicit diverse responses from the CycloNovaChron. Within some of the cells, small amounts of Releaser pheromones would be held in a portion of the ring structures and be excreted in the presence of increased pathogens. Once active the pheromone would stimulate growth within a certain region of the host. In this way the serum could be administered to a subject without the presence of a wound but once they were injured the CycloNovaChron could reproduce wherever needed. As the wound healed a colony would grow and Signal Pheromones would then be released which would attract specially incubated bacteria loaded with viruses. The discharge of chemicals would increase exponentially as more and more viruses arrived and the colony would quickly be broken down. Through this cycle a wound would be disinfected, sealed, and then cleared without the need of a medic. As the colony broke down, the virus would cause the host to be filled with adrenaline, giving instantaneous relief and strength.

At the moment I am working on section 3. While discussing the development of Cyclo Nova Chron i talk about the Nova Bacterium and the Chron Virus. Lichto stated, and I agree that merely sticking the names together does not work well. Therefor I have done some quick research on bacteria and viruses to come up with new names.

Nova --> Chrysiogene arsenatis nova (bacterium)
[in the text I will however continue to refer to it as Nova]

Chron --> ds RNA Reoviridae Chronastrea (Virus)
[in the text I will refer to it as Chron]

I think that CycloNovaChron is a very good name and will try to keep it as it is.

EDIT: I have finished with section three but am having trouble posting it due to bb code restrictions. I was wondering if Chon could allow it (if possible) just to make things easier. Otherwise I will have to rewrite text that takes up about one and a half pages in Word.

EDIT:EDIT: I figured out how to solve the bb code problem. Simply highlight all the text and click the button that says "Remove text formatting"

-its only half as long as Dust Wars ;)

    Dust Wars is 3 PAGES
    CycloNovaChron is 1.5 PAGES

I think I had already posted part of that earlier and I could dig that up for you...

EDIT: I found it. It talks about the capture of the planet and the omega spy. Feel free to change what you like. It is still missing information about the Revenant and does not go into the campaign as you did with the description of Hell's Pit.

"With regard to the creation of CycloNovaChron I thought that the scientists had worked on a project using both the Chron Virus and the Nova Bacterium. They conducted work on several planets but their main laboratory was on Eris-V where the original breakout of Chron had occured. The scientific devision was then moved there and the military constructed several other complexes surrounding it. These were dedicated to testing prototype weapons and other classified projects. A security base was established in the center (Hell's Pitt) with several outposts along the edges of the perimiter (HighGround).

After the Dust Wars the joint USTC and UNSC fleet was forced to retreat. Eris-V became a prime target for the UCCL which now boasted a significant force. They launched an attack of the planet on October 4th 3336 in attempt to capture the scientific complex. The scientists were able to eveacuate before hand and a team of infiltration officers along with several planetary guard units stayed on site to protect the most sensitive areas of the facility. Several sectors were destroyed and a routine purge of information was begun.

However the UCCL had already placed agents within the complex and they were able to restrict the actions of the infiltrators until ground forces took control of the complex. The biochemical and engineering buildings had been captured without much damage done to the system as well as the main SpecOps Center. A lone UNSC infiltrator codenamed Omega-II was able to evade capture and link up with fleeing members of the guard unit. As the UCCL settled into the area, his group ran several operations to tap into the main computer systems as well as bug many of the major communication channels. They kept the UNSC in touch with UCCL activities and began to pick up large amounts of chatter referring to CycloNovaChron. Though the signals were encoded they were able to decipher certain messages.

-Here is where I would like to clarify the story. The UCCL are working on the project and then what happens. Does it get out of hand or do they release it intentionally? I think that the Revenant should come from one of the encoded messages. The UCCL enact biohazard precautions and begin to evacuate the area. Omega-II leads a team back into the complex to discover what is occuring. Maybe they come across dead bodies and other horrors. They forward the informaton and warn of the Revenant and CycloNovaChron. Then I guess they lose the teams transmission and are no longer able to raise them on any frequencies.

After this the Marines are sent in equiped with fully sealed armor. They could be a special forces group that carries similar armour as the MJOLNIR carried by the Spartans. (I don't think they should be Spartans)."

An art job. That sounds pretty cool. I am good at art and was wondering what kind of stuff you would be doing.

ATTENTION: I will try to continue posting the stories. This will make it so we have an area to store the information. If I save it all on word and try to paste it back here to post it, the thing says that bb code is not allowed. I'm sorry if they take up space but it is important and will help later on.

The map posts below are guidelines for the real posts we will have when the project is released. A story will be integrated into the description and I think all of them should be as informative as Chon's.

Things are starting to speed up again and I am guessing that I can have the full stroy out by the end of the week.

    1. Colonization
-this talks about the expansion of humanity after the human-covenant wars

    2. Dust Wars
-this section describes the first major conflict between the USTC and the Rebels. The post talks about why they rebel, and the fighting particularly in the area that gave the war its name.

    3. CycloNovaChron
-I discuss the evolution of the NovaChron virus/bacteria. It's stages of development are detailed as is the way it works.

    4. Revenant
-Here the story leads up to the fighting in the maps. It talks about events before the campaign and sets up the story the player follows. This will also go into the creation of the Revenant.

EDIT: It is starting to dawn on me that releasing the campaign will be difficult. We are going to have a main page with links all over the place. It can lead people to the different story sections and then special posts for each map. Maybe we should lock the posts and have all comments be posted at the main page. This will be complicated and maybe we should talk to some of the staff before releasing. Seeing as Blood Fire is in the group maybe he could help us find a practical method.
