e93 Obama wants to tax people now as in NOW when the Economy is falling. Giving money to the poor will just put thier income up and make the people who already have it up go down, and the cicle will just repeat itself. So what is the point of even starting it in the beginning. There will always be poor people, there will always be rich people, and there will always be middle class people.
