...yeah, it's kinda hard to make out the text in either of them, as not only is it the same hue and saturation as the background, but the only distinguishing factors are also blurred, making it even harder to make out what they actually are. There's also the fact that the background is blurred over the character, making it look really sloppy. I will say, though, that I like the concept of your "new style," though I'm having trouble locking down just what the distinguishing factors are for it. In either case, I can tell that it's still a new style, and that you've got some development left to do to it before it's completed. Keep working with it and experimenting: it'll turn out well eventually, 'cause I can see that you've got a good base concept to work from.

Remember that, while everyone here might still be learning graphic design, it's the task of those who already have a skill for it to help others develop it. If you're not willing to contribute to the growth of the community at large, then I think it's safe to say that the community wouldn't want you participating at all.
