Cool guys thanks for the help. I'm still probably gonna rent it because I'm saving up for gears 2 and I don't know if I'll be able to afford both at the moment but I want to play this game so god damn bad!!

the map editor is unbelievably in-depth. the amount of land you are given is amazing, and there are i guess over 1,000 items. The most impressive is the terrain tools. you will spend most of the time shaping the land the way you want it, and making it look nice. I believe yes, the map editor is worth it, and as for the single-player, im not too far into it, and i have yet to enter multiplayer so idk.
