Thank you for checking out the Sig Shop Union. The SSU is a group that brings together many of the major quality sig shops on the forum for similar purposes.

The three main goals of this thread are community, quality, and elimination of sig whores (people who go from shop to shop asking for sigs). The SSU hopes to achieve this by explicitly posting the rules which all requesters in all affiliated shops must follow. Through this, we also hope to eliminate spam on the forums, especially random requests for sigs.

If you would like to join the Sig Shop Union you must fit all three of our criteria.

1. You must create quality work as judged by our members.
   
2. You must be willing to assist other members of the union on occasion.
   
3. You must have a decent volume of request and be punctual about making sigs.

*Joining our union signifies that you will enforce all rules. You must also link to this thread in the rules section of your sig shop.

Benefits of joining the SSU include but are not limited to:

• One Sig Per Week Per User Limit

Where are these rules you ask?
Here is our list of rules that all requesters must follow.
OUR MEMBERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO DENY SERVICE OR REQUIRE EDITING THE REQUEST IF THE REQUESTER'S REQUEST BREAKS ANY OF THE RULES.

Sig Shop Ten Twelve Commandments

1. Thou shalt not request more than one sig from any of our affiliated shops in a given week. For example, if you make a request in one shop, you may not request another in any shop that week. Members post names of all requesters in the group so that no shop makes a sig for those people for a week.
   
2. Thou shalt not claim any work from the affiliated shops.
   
3. Thou shalt only request one signature or avatar at a time unless you request an sig/avatar set.
   
4. After thou receiveth a sig, post in the shop that you have received it, and an opinion on the work is appreciated.
   
5. Thou shalt use the format for requesting that the sig shop owner has put in the original post. Rebels who cannot follow this should at least include a stock or render and a brief explanation for what they want.
   
6. Thou shalt not post overly complicated requests. This may include but is not limited to: adding segments of the sig which are made from stocks not included (lighting, fire, c4ds)-although we can improvise most of the time it is still helpful, putting your image (cutting out or rendering) over a certain background, etc. If it sounds hard, it probably is.
   
7. Thou shalt not post overly simple requests. Threads without stocks or renders will simply be ignored. Also make sure your links are not broken. If you fix the request please edit the original and do not repost... we notice the original posts.
   
8. If thou is interested in joining the union, post a link to your shop and some of your work in the application thread. The link to that is below. We will consider and based on the quality of your work we will decide whether you may join.
   
9. Thou shalt not PM or visitor message the sig maker unless the sig has taken a week already, unless for other reasons or for further explanation on what thou wants in the sig.
   
10. Thou shalt not fuss.
    
11. Thou shalt follow all rules of the individual sig shop in addition the union rules.
    
12. Thou shalt be blacklisted from affiliated shops if thou persists in breaking said rules.

Add in that unless stated that one does not like sig, the sig is to be used for a minimum of 1 week. Also, If one persists in breaking said rules, they shalt be blacklisted from said shops.

Looks great, all I can say is that you for got to put my name next to the link to my shop like the others although its common sense that I run it, and that some of the text is overly big, but it needs to be.

im kinda confused as to what this does...

is this for people who are taking requests?

but then whats this about joining it.. what happens when you join? and yes i read it, i dont understand it completely

As you may know, the sig shops have been having problems with "Sig Whores", people who go from shop to shop asking for sigs. One person may ask three different shops to make him a sig in a week. You see where the people who make the sigs don't appreciate this behavior and want to prevent it. If your shop is affiliated with this union then you make the request and then post the persons name in the social group. This person cannot get a sig from any of the affiliated shops for a week.

Essentialy, we, the Sig Shop owners have grown tired of spending hour(s) making a sig that is quickly replaced the next day, so we (jelleh and I) have created a union that allows the union members to keep track of whos just had a sig made, and blacklist them from the shops for a certain period of time. It also acts as a IRL union does.
