actually, i have one small request....i thought of this really cool map idea, in my opinion, and i tried to make it in like 10 minutes.....i wanna take a bunch of pictures of it, post them here, then try to remake it using interlocking.....also, if you can, i need help on doing 3 slanted double box ramps embedded into the ground....if ne1 can help me redo my map and improve it, please PM me and i will give you partial credit in making the map when i release it!

Don't get me wrong, I am willing to help, but I never said I would build your map for you. If you need 3 of something to be made, I will help you with one and let you do the rest. Once you get the concept down it is your map to complete. This affords you the luxury of taking credit for the entire map and it affords me more time to help others as well.

lemme know if that works
I just used this on a map.
It works a treat altho apart form looking good i dont see much of a use as you can walk onto bridges without jumping anyway..enjoy i guess

INCIDENTLY
Since around 6 people havce asked at this stage how to interlcok so carefully shouldnt either mine nor dumb cats method be added in?
If the 101 is based on the person reading it knowing nothing previously then they wont know something like this off the top of their heads
Obviously you guys use a method similar to ours since you hardly guess things for interlocking as complicated as say spire with its floating carefully placed platforms

i can do interlocking VERY easy now, but there should just be an option when you place something that says something like "interlock with closest item? Yes/No"

It would be WAY too gimicky, its much better if you leave it to manual.
It separates people who know what they are doing to those that are just throwing boxes around

well, i don't need it anyway....i know how to interlock, just not merge into map geometry at an angle just yet!

Go HERE

I find the door method to be the easiest. If you want it an angle, readjust only one of the doors, as opposed to both. Also, make sure you have other objects around it so you can better predict where your sunken object can/cannot go.

Its still an imperfect science, but we are getting there.

I use four doors; one on each corner. Again, its not perfect, but it definitely helps.

I used to use two doors; one on each end, but when the box finally settled, it was uneven with the floor.

Any further discussion on merging objects with map geometry should not be discussed in this thread. There is another 101 thread dedicated to this subject and further conversation should be carried out over there. I always check the forging 101 forums, so I will know if you post something new.
