Penance

Created by: Shad0w Viper and chrstphrbrnnn

Recommended Players: 1v1
Recommended Gametypes: Conflict

1v1 Conflict, Round 1.

Penance is a symmetrical map created in the crypt of Sandbox. Being one of the medium sized maps in the tournament, Penance's main focus is long to medium range BR fights with a mix of some tactical close range weapons to surprise your opponent. Using gradual changes in heights, Penance allows for easy strafing, while having areas of higher ground to gain an advantage in those tight BR battles. Multiple start strategies will have your opponent thrown off as he tries to predict and adapt to the choices made right out of the gate.

Alongside the balanced geometry, an array of tactical weapons and equipment can give a player the upper hand when used in the correct situations. A power drain may allow for an offensive push or trap, while a regenerator may help you turn the tide or escape that hairy situation by the skin of your teeth. With no overlaying power weapon, playing Penance all comes down to correct timing and a whole lot of bullets from a Battle Rifle.

Good luck to all competitors, and have a great tournament.

Looks good guys. I'll have to download this even though I'm not in the tournament.

Just out of curiosity, do all these maps count as actual features for their designers?

Yes, the do. All forgers are premium+ though, so it's not an extremely huge deal.

This is definitely a well crafted map, I definitely enjoyed playing on it even though I loss all four of the games I played. Without a doubt the standards have definitely increased dramatically since the last 1v1 tournament. I thought every thing was done perfectly on the map and in my opinion is the best 1v1 map I've ever played on. Great job guys.

This looks amazing. For some reason I think of Quake 2 when I look at it.

I'm looking forward to the tournament, hopefully I can make it past the first round lol.

Oh wow, this is absolutely amazing. The aesthetics are absolutely jaw dropping and the planning is so well thought out. I love it and look forward to the other maps even more!

Wait, so does that mean that certain people in the tourney got to play the maps early? If so that doesn't seem very fair. Other than that the map looks very well made and I can't wait to practice on it tomorrow.

Seeing how they made the maps themselves, I hardly see how it's unreasonable to play on your own damn map.

And they might want to test it before they release it for a big tourney. Not too out of the question, is it?

I had a 1v1 with AGamer a little while ago, and I must say, I am definitely impressed with the amount of work put into this map. The two-way teleporter was a nice addition and the laser was ok. I didn't use the laser because of it's charge time, but I'd like to see the creative uses out of it. ;)

No I mean like agamer said he tested and he's in the tourny (I think) so that would mean he got a little more practice on the map. Don't get me wrong I don't really care I was mainly just wondering.

Some member posted it early...... I was anxious to play on it.
