Spire is a small 1v1 map created for Tier 4 of Forge Hub's 1v1 Showdown and supports Slayer, Oddball and KOTH. A 10m radar range is recommended or else there is nowhere to hide.

Spire is a map that you'll want to put some time into considering tactics and strategies, as there are several potent methods to attempt to control the map. There are also a large amount of jumps and knowing the layout of the map will help you enormously in being able to smoothly transition from one level to the next. The layout of Spire is such that it is not too punishing if you fall from a platform, and suggests jumps and routes which assist new players in adjusting to a game even if it is their first play through. There is enough cover that a quick escape down through the floors can be achieved, and yet at the same time very precise grenade placement and use of the two teleporters on the map can decide key battles.

Spire is unusual in that it appears to be very unforgiving and far too small to work for 1v1, but in actuality the battles can last longer than many others as players jostle for positional advantage using their radar and glimpses of player routes. This secondary battle can go on for 20-30 seconds before the players even meet, or can be interspersed by occasional pot shots to keep your opponents shields down until you can get into a position to finish them off.

On start one player begins on the ground floor and one at the top. The top floor player has access to the Plasma Rifle which is the power weapon for this map and the Power Drain which never respawns. The bottom floor player has Overshields and a Portable Grav Lift, as well as access to both sender nodes. Sender 'B' takes you to the second floor, whilst sender 'A' takes you to the top floor. Taking into account the height advantage of the top floor player, the initial encounter has been tweaked to be as balanced as possible. The rest is up to you.
