StickBall

StickBall
Created by Trickmyster

Stick or be stuck in this renovation of a classic schoolyard game. This is a team based game in which players on opposite sides of the field. They must rush to the center of the map where a series of spike grenades are located. At this point the game plays like that of a standard dodge ball game where players can't cross the line in the middle of the map. Players stay on opposite sides trying to hit each other to win the round.

*Note: We do realize this map isn't a new idea. It is actually quite old, but we figured that the gallery wouldn't be complete without a version of dodgeball.

Re: StickBall

This game variant gets really crazy with a lot of players. It's pretty damn fun for a good couple of rounds though.

Re: StickBall

I love the idea of dodgeball and it is a great way to pass fun as another mini game like swings and hobo heights but do any of you know how to eliminate people crossing over. All my friends can resist but when there are large parties some people cheat and go over the line on purpose or without knowing the rules. I have played both this and the one on Sandtrap and they are fun but i wish i knew how to set up something to block them from crossing over.

I took this map and put 3 or 4 teleporters laying down in 2 rows on each side. There is high gravity so you cant jump over them and so when you walk through it, it spawns you in the back of the map but there are glitches around it. It starts with plasma pistol has really high shields to make it where one stick kills you but if you dont get a stick it is very hard to die. There are also random plasma and spike grenades on the ground. This map is not professionally set up so there are a few flaws and i have never shared this with anyone not that i think anyone would want to play it but if i did i would credit you tricky.

I don't intend to but I would like some advice on how to make this work, I would like a much bigger blocked off symmetrical area that does not allow you to go to the other side, and the only way i can think of this with grenades being able to pass by, is teleporters but they can get stuck on the bases of the teleporters so if any of you "pros" have any thoughts or would like to create a profesional map *hint hint* ;D, i would appreciate it.

Re: StickBall

This map is great fun, but the environment starts breaking apart pretty quickly. Can the arena border be made more permanent? e.g., maybe have it respawn back at its starting location or something? I'm no Forge expert...

Re: StickBall

Everyone should probably just wait for Foundry... which will be a good setting if this map is ever remade (cuz of fences, boxes, and the like). Tricky I can work with you to rebuild it when the new maps come out... I have an idea that might work out...

Re: StickBall

We'll figure it out... I'm good at fixing problems... I didn't like the whole spikeball idea, becuz of the boundary problem, so not that I think I have a fix we can make it fun.
