Default Multiplayer Screenshots

Multiplayer Screenshots

Here are the first Far Cry 2 Multiplayer screenshots to be released to the general public. I know there isn't much going on, but it shows how some of the objective games will be run, and how crucial vehicles can be. If you see anything in these pictures that i didn't, be sure to point it our to your fellow Far Cry fans. So far everything i know about the Multiplayer aspect of the game is that:

  • The Multiplayer aspect is very similar to Call of Duty 4
  • The maximum amount of players in a party is 16
  • The gametypes are Deathmatch, Team-Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and a mission-based 'VIP' themed mode called Uprising.
  • The maximum number of teams are 2
  • There are 14 default playable maps
  • There are 6 different classes with different weapons and equipment
  • The player gains experience points by killing enemies which he can use for weapon upgrades and so on.
  • Day- and Night-Cycle as also Fire propagation and the Weathersystem will take part in the multiplayer
Quote:
As sharp as FC2’s unscripted enemy AI is even in its current Alpha code state, it won’t be making an appearance in the multiplayer – but you’ll have enough to worry about with up to 15 other players vying for supremacy on a single map. Some of these players will have a significant advantage too: beginning with each game you’ll have the choice of one of six specialist classes including snipers, support weapons experts and standard assault rifle specialists, all of whom can gain a ranking of up to three diamonds. This in turn will see an improvement for the weapons at each rank, so the sniper will go from wielding a vanilla bolt-action Springfield to a highvelocity sniper SLR with scope.

The ranking system makes competition fierce in multiplayer, but there’s more ways to frag a cat than to best him in an arms race. As per single-player, intelligent use of your environment will prove key to your survival, especially by using fire to flush other players out of cover, and also your choice of class depending on the time of day… support specialists with their flame-throwers are lethal adversaries, but at night they make a choice, glowing target for stealthy saboteurs, mid-range commandos and especially snipers.

people think graphics are advancing rapidly in our current games, in some case's this true but in common fps's such as cod4 and now farcry 2, the game programmers and artists add in grunging effects and simple close up graphics. by doing this, we are not advancing in graphics, i find it quite dumb when they cut corners. it's rediclious.

"Hey, TyRant! are you really a Hacker?", said the common man.

Games like Rainbow Six Vegas 1, GRAW 1 and 2 and Battlefield Bad Company do it, but Far Cry doesn't. With all of the dynamics added and new ideas brought to the table like fire propogation and an interactive weather system, i can understand if the game comes just short of true beauty.

I added some more screenshots showing a bit more variety to the gameplay.

The reason why textures look bad up close is because the xbox could never handle full HD textures. Theres not enough space power etc.

I hope that they will include some integration with multiplayer with user created maps. I'd like to see that sooo bad, hell, we've been asking that for Halo 3 forever.

Honesty. He has it.

That kinda rapes Halo 3 when it started, doesn't it?
