How To Make A Custom Game

The Customs Lobby is the place where you can go to organize or find fun customs. If you're looking to play some fun games, this is where you need to be. Of course, you can also get together for ranked or social matchmaking, even Campaign or Forge. However, there are three simple rules that you must follow:

1. NO "Playing Soon" threads! Give people at least 3 hours in advance. If you want a Playing Soon game, use the stickied thread.
2. If you are playing matchmaking, say so in the thread! A good idea is to ask for skill level if you're playing ranked, to make sure you don't get an imbalanced party. Similarly, if you're going to be playing maps that require the Legendary Pack, or if you're going to play matchmaking in a playlist that requires the pack, mention it.
3. Don't play a custom to test out maps. That is for the specialized Testers Guild, which a separate child board of the TRC Guild board.


To start a game, all you have to do is this:

1. Get together the games or itinerary you plan on playing. Make sure you know how to explain a game if there are extra rules involved.
2. Create a New Thread in this (Customs Lobby) child board.
3. For the Title, you should put something descriptive. Highly recommended is to include the time and day of the month in the title, and a descriptive party name. For example:

"3:00PM/4 - Cat N Mouse Fun"

The times should be listed in EST (GMT -5). Remember to give at least 3 hours notice in advance. If you want to play a spontaneous game, post in the "Playing Soon" thread instead.
4. Include any details necessary, including your gamertag.
5. People who wish to join will post their gamertag in their reply.
6. When the time comes to start, create a new message on your 360, go to game invite and type in the gamertags of those who wish to join. Repeat for all gamertags. Alternatively, they can send you a Friend Request or message.
7. Play!

YES! Finally, H3Customs was dead for a while, and maybe I have another resource for custom games. Insane, it may look like I'm spamming this forum, but I'm accustomed to a TGIF-like custom game every day or every other day.

Yeah, I don't think there will be much to moderate. Other than posting in EST and following the format for the title, I don't expect much trouble.
One thing that should be considered is a policy on Recaps. There are a number of ways to go about this, but I'm a regular ol' blue name, so it's up to you guys. :D
You could have a separate format for Recaps, and have a tag(Like the action tag for screenshots, or the news tags) for posting it. You could even possibly have a subforum, or just limit people to posting it in the same planning thread. Your call.
