A group of members here at Forge Hub, including myself, are able and very capable of drafting intense and thought-out concepts and designs for maps, but might not necessarily have the forging skills and experience to apply said concepts. In this way, I’d like to suggest a new Forge Hub forum category that I feel would not only better Forge Hub as a whole, but also further set it apart from other less sophisticated forging communities.
A forum or sub-forum through which designers can post scanned or digital renditions of their concepts, for unlimited use by forgers. Users can post their drafts, and other users can choose to fabricate them. Even if some ideas are never utilized, participating users would undoubtedly enjoy the designing process. The truth is, a handful of members have steady hands, but no ideas to apply, while other members haven’t the technique to transform their already planned ideas into reality. I ask you, moderators, administrators, and members, why not mind the gap?
Measures have already been taken to grant forgers graphics and art to assist them in presenting their creations, by use of the Graphics and Arts section. It is my opinion that an even more fundamental category is absent.
The best part of all of this is that no substantial work is required on the part of Forge Hub administrators. The only thing that needs to be done is the addition of a forum section. Additional moderation, granted, would be in store, but it isn’t at all like we’re asking for another Random Talk section – as this would require extreme moderation in comparison.
If not an entire forum dedicated to map concepts and design, then I feel that at least a sub-forum is in order.
Think about the benefits would bring, think about any problems you might have with this idea, and let me know what you think about all of this. I'd love to see this here at Forge Hub. Put simply, it would be awesome. Period.
