Suggestion Community modding

Okay, forgehub is a community based forum and as such I beleive it should be modderated by the community instead of moderators. What im suggesting is a vote system that can get threads closed, posts deleted or a person infracted.

Say someone posts spam such as

"Lol gud map!"

The community could vote for that person to have an infraction on their profile or the post removed, by pressing a button similar to the report post button. After about 5 or so votes the post will have whatever was voted happen to it.

I think this community modding will make much fairer decisions and maybe even make decisions quicker.

Obviously there would have to be 1 or 2 moderators still in action incase of advertising spammers and such flooding the forum or someone spamming goatse lol -.-

That's pretty much what the report button does, it just signals a mod to get his arse over there. Honestly, it's a dumb idea, and it's slow. Because everytime someone spams here [which is quite often] I can tell you personally I'm not going to waste my time going to their page and voting. Moderators know when to close a thread, they don't need other people telling them to. Bad idea.

As much as this sounds like it would work in writing in reality it won't, kind of like Communism it works on paper but fails horribly in reality. Basically people with grudges on people or people that are angry at comments on their map they don't like will purposely vote for an infraction, close etc.

Sorry, but getting an infraction that's certainly more legit than most doesn't mean that the community should be moderators now.
