Not Sure about ForgeHub...

A bunch of people suggested I come here. I am an avid forger and have been wanting to share my maps for a long time.

However, there is an issue. During the Halo 2 years (long before Forge was thought of), I made a post on Bungie about changing maps ascetically (just the way they look) and about mods that did such on NON-Live Xbox's. Well, long story short, Bungie made a sacrificial lamb out of me, and after just one "wrong" post, I was blacklisted for life (I still, to this day, think it was unfair, but even after several emails, I never hear anything from Bungie).

Anyway, that is were my problem starts. I really like what Forgehub can offer, but I'm not sure I'll be able to take advantage since I can't post maps on the forums.

I guess my question is this: Are there any exceptions out there for guys like me, or am I out of luck as far as ForgeHub is concerned?

First off, welcome to ForgeHub! Hope you enjoy your stay here!

Second off, maybe you could make another account on B.net with a different e-mail, different username, and different GT linked to it. You'll probably have to make a second account on your xbox to be able to do this.

I thought that if you get blacklisted, the only thing you can't do is post on the forums etc. Shouldn't you still be able to access your stats, fileshare etc.?

I tried the other email/account thing. Apparently, they go by IP address. As I said, I've also tried several times to get this decision appealed. No luck.

And my ban only effects posting on their forums. I have no problem seeing stats, or using my fileshare. But according to the rules here, you can't link to stuff in file share :(

And thank you for the welcome.

Go to the library or something and make an account there.

If you couldn't link to stuff in a fileshare, how would anyone DL anything?
Do you mean you can't post modded content? That would be correct, but you're allowed to post anything from your fileshare that isn't modded.

I'm not talking about modded content.

Just the rules say that for posting maps, it has to come from a Bungie forum, not fileshare.

So, are you saying that fileshare is ok? I'm confused.

The only reason you're not allowed to post from fileshare is because people often remove the files from their fileshare at a later date, therefore making it impossible to download the map. However, if you just don't delete/move those files from your fileshare, there's really no reason you can't link to it.

Whenever he posts maps he has to link to his fileshare is basically what I'm getting from this. No problem for me.

So, basically, I can have it on my file share, but I'll only be able to have 6 maps tops?

if the map/gametype remains on your HDD then it will always be downloadable given you have the link to b.net.

I.E. You put a map in your fileshare and the link is "awesomemapblahblahblah.bungie.net" or whatever the URL consists of.
You then remove the map from your fileshare, but still have the amp on your HDD and still have the link posted, still downloadable.

The only way it won't be downloadable is if you delete the map from your HDD.

Hope that helps.

Like my sig? Refresh the page, it'll change. :)

That is definitely false. The map must to be in a fileshare somewhere for it to be downloadable.

If the map is in your fileshare, navigate to it on BNet, click on the file's name, then use that link for your map download here.
